Why? we have Krug, and a bunch of youngsters like Warsofsky, Bartkowski etc etc.

I'm as big a MOttau fan as anyone, but the 7th defenseman doesn't need to be a veteran. I'd rather give one of those kids a chance. They would fill the role of Steven Kampfer who was most of the time, somewhat valuable to our team providing clutch production.

Not sure there is much difference what I would like to see in a 7th guy is good defensively/grit/and not scared to let the knuckles fly

I was thinking about the youth on this team today and realized that I'm not nearly as excited about Dougie making his debut then I was with Seguin. I think part of this is because I know CJ will do the right thing and limit his minutes so my expectations are low.

I really hope Dougie can come out and earn a top 4 spot and be a building block on the PP.

See I'm way more excited about Dougie than I was about Segs, not because I have high expectations for him out the gate, but because he been one of my favorite prospects even before he was drafted

I was thinking the same thing almost, I think CJ pairs him with Seids and they get rotated out there with the 2nd and 3rd lines as much as possible to help limit the defensive issues that may arise.

I think i was more excited about Seguin b/c of the "awe 2nd pick overall" factor, but i'm really excited about Dougie....this will be the first D prospect in a while that has top 4 potential

I have more hopes and excitement for Dougie because if he can grow into a solid D-man with his offensive skills - we haven't seen that combination since #77

Chances are he is more Wideman then Bourque but we can hope.

i hope he is more than Wideman, i'm pretty sure he will be...

I've seen Comparisons rank from Brent Burns to Rob Blake.

I'll take either one of those and any player in between haha
