I'm going to the suns game next Friday and was planning on taking the train to penn station then take the Long island railroad. Has anyone taken this before and how close is it to the arena? If anyone can help would be much appreciated also wondering on price for the LIRR

You can use google maps, you can include public transportation..

I think you'll be fine, just maybe 20 minutes total, with 5-10 minutes walking..

I take nj transit to penn then the 2, never see a reason to take LIR

I'm guessing that you're coming from NJ?

LIRR doesn't go from Penn Station to the Barclays Center (it's a different LIRR line). You'd have to take the LIRR to Jamaica Station, then get off and take it back in the other direction to the Barclays Center. Take the 2/3 train from Penn to the Barclays Center/Atlantic Ave. That's about 10 stops.

Both the 2/3 and the LIRR come out right in front of the Barclays Center, as do a number of other subway lines. If you come out in the wrong spot, it'll be very easy for you to figure out where to go.

On a side note, if anyone is coming from Long Island, you can take the LIRR directly to the Barclays Center/Atlantic Ave, though you may have to switch trains at Jamaica Station.
