Should the Mavs trade Dirk?

The Mavs really aren't going anywhere, all they really have to play for is a possible 7th or 8th seed and a certain 1st td playoff exit, I can see the Mavs starting a rebuilding process, and I think they should trade Dirk now while he still has some value, there are definitely a few teams out there that could contend if they added Dirk.

imo, dirk/pierce should only be moved if they request it.

let them finish their contracts.

This. It is a special thing for a player to play his entire career with one team. It doesn't happen often. There are only a handful of players in a position to do that right now; Duncan, Parker, Manu, Kobe, PP and Dirk (and yes, there are some much younger guys who can still do it).

Dirk brought Dallas a championship and made them a contender for longer than a decade. I think he has done enough for the organization that they should let him finish his career however he chooses to. If guys like PP or Dirk wanted to be traded, then yes, I would look into trading them. But if they want to finish their careers with the franchises that they have always played with and won championships with, I think those franchises should honour that. Yes, it would be in their best interest to move those guys for younger pieces, but I think the right thing to do is to give them a chance to do something special and retire in the only uniform they ever played in.

It could be beneficial for the Mavs but I think they should leave that up to Dirk. He is a player that deserves to be on the same team for his entire career if he wants. Same for Pierce

Lakers are bad because of their coach... Mavs actually have a decent team but not good enough to win a title (or be a contender) and not sorry enough to get a high pick.. It's not a good position to be in

The Mavs won't win anything this year, but there's always next year. By then, Dirk should be healthy and Mayo might truly become a 2nd option. In the off-season, they can ship out Marion and others, bring in new talent, maybe even a drowning star. They just need a solid point guard and consistent defense.
