Who were your idols as a kid?

I was at a sports card store today for the first time in years, picking up some cards of Cuban baseball players to give to the kids on vacation in a couple weeks. While I was there I was checking out the old cards for sale and it brought back a ton of memories.

Growing up I had a few sports idols...Graig Nettles, 3B for the Yankees...Don Beaupre, goalie for the North Stars...Bo Jackson and of course Barry Sanders.

I was wondering how the hell I ever started to like Nettles & Beaupre lol. Where did that come from? I think I was 4 and I saw Nettles making diving catches on TV in the world series, but Beaupre, no idea. Anyways...who were your sports idols growing up? Any weird ones that make no sense like mine?

I'm still young, but I got interested in football by watching Ladainian Tomlinson play in San Diego...in basketball Tracy McGrady, and baseball Ken Griffey Jr.
