Another 3 point shooter is a pretty big need! Now what type of big could we get for Rip?
Also trading rip forces Marco back into the lineup which I like!

he'll probably just become senile and mention them in trades as if they are still in their prime

At least he stayed a Bulls fan while adoring them in a crazy way, most guys would stick with their man and switch fanbases

He's going to write a book with stats about them, like he's done with MJ.

I don't see this as making Rip expendable at all as the only thing Cook has that Rip may not is health. Maybe I'm crazy, but going from a "breakout season" with the Thunder, to some mediocre starts, followed by the Houston trade, then to the Waiver wires doesn't exactly have me excited. He was being outperformed by Carlos Delfino.

It's a good hire for depth in a backcourt that is one injury away from being VERY shallow.

Shallow? I think we're deep as hell there.

    PG: Rose (soon)/Kirk/Nate/Teague
    SG: Hamilton/Belinelli/Butler/Cook/Kirk/Nate

An extended injury to Kirk, Nate, or Rip and that all drastically changes.

I think we could afford to lose one of those guys (especially Rip, IMO) and we'd be fine.

Agree with KH12. Although I think we are kinda shallow in SG position considering what PT KH12, Nate, and JB rack up, because they can play 2 positions.

Granted a Healthy Rip or Healthy DC changes that; then we are good.

If Bulls sign Daequan Cook, Hamilton must be traded right now. It's necessary do it because Derrick is coming, Robinson has been resigned and everybody wants that both Teague and Belinelli play more minutes.

With Rose healthy, Robinson and Teague as reserve players at SG position would be enough. Belinelli, Hinrich and Cook would be right, but Bulls still need to improve inside frontcourt.

The problem is that Hamilton won't be agree to leave Bulls (and extend his own contract) unless he reach a contender team. So, Bulls only could get a C or PF if this team ensures a player as Hamilton during 2 years. It's impossible that any team in NBA give you some proper player in exchange for a expiring contract.

However, that movement seems to indicate that Hamilton will go away of Bulls team at last. I have many doubts about his implication in the locker room, and about his ethic work. I'm sure he doesn't get along with Tom.
I'm NBA fan who write from Spain so... I'm sorry for my spelling mistakes
