Mets Owners Get $700 Million in Loans to Refinance Debt

    metsblog
The Mets owners obtained at least $700 million in loans to refinance debt, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, Bloomberg’s Scott Soshnick reports today.

According to Soshnick, the financing will be used to replace existing credit lines and provide additional funds to the team’s owners.

Yesterday, the New York Post reported team owners recently refinanced $450 million in loans borrowed against SportsNet New York (SNY).

Now I get it, they're refinancing so they can have a spending spree next off-season, that must be the reason.

Looks like ya'll were right folks.

The Wilpons goal is to do whatever is necessary to hold on to ownership of the Mets. If they have to refinance loans while operating on a shoestring budget, so be it.
"Mr. Martin Tanner, Baritone, of Dayton, Ohio made his Town Hall debut last night. He came well prepared, but unfortunately his presentation was not up to contemporary professional standards. His voice lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it consistently interesting. Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order."

At least people can't say the Wilpons are all about the money...if that was true, they would just sell this ****ing team. It's certainly not helping their finances.

They certainly don't care about the NY Mets or the fans. Never have done and never will, they are shysters, liars, thieves and cheats.

    Really?

    That's really how you feel??

Wouldn't have known from the first 600 million times you've said it.

Unless the Wilpons sell the team we will never compete. The commish needs to step in and force the Wilpons to sell the team.

Why is he any different than the 600 million people that claim that we are going to spend big in 2014? They continue to make one argument, he continues to make a different, more reasonable argument based on the evidence- such as this post.

I don't get how fans can't be MORE fed up over the ownership. Each time I look at the Dodgers it gets me depressed

This ownership is just stubborn and disgusting. Just sell already and go fulfill your wrestling and hockey ventures. 700 million to help the franchise and they are assembling this team for 2013?
