Expansion Idea!!!

I was reading the thread about worldwide expansion earlier today and I thought to myself "how would the league look and how would it work?". So I came up with this.

American Conference
West(12 teams)

European Conference

The way it would work start the season in the first week of Oct/last week sept. Only 4 pre-season games. 4 games with in division, 3 in conference and 1-2 out of conference. Obviously exceptions have to be made for the other conferences but it would definitely be interesting. Playoffs would be 16 teams from American conference and 16 from the other 3. Best of 5 except the Finals and the Conference finals. What you guys think??

There arent enough good players to go around to fill up this many teams, there are already too many teams imo.

That's just too many teams. I could see an expansion, at most, maybe 4 or 5 max. Even that would be pushing it.
Keep in mind, you are asking American players to play abroad now too. Will guys want to live in Dubai or Sydney?

It's bad enough that the NBA has 30 teams, why add another 18? The league needs to contract six teams and have two conferences of 12. Would make the competition far more fun to watch.

Yeah...that's never gonna happen.

Maybe an international competition between club teams...that could be fun (I know they exist, just get the NBA into it). But besides that, the NBA itself is never going to be that global.

The NBA doesn't need to expand much, if at all.

There should be contraction of 4-6 teams not ****ing expansion of even two teams.

If teams end up in Europe they should just move the 8 most unprofitable teams in the US to cities in Europe that would make more money for them.

1.too many teams,there arent enough quality players in the world to fill out all those rosters(well i guess they have to include psders in the draft )
2.alot of teams are located in cities where fan support is weak(dubai,you think of basketball mad city,really?)
3.the travel is insane ,both in time and in cost
4.how could anyone watch their fav teams? look the time difference between mtn us and east coast is one thing its only a few hours difference ,a 7pm start or 9 pm start isnt that big a deal;but to watch your team take on tokyo,thats a bit different???

Hahaha I agree with everyone even on the crazy part. I was just building on the other thread but maybe I built it a bit too much. But yes no one wants to live in Dubai home of the largest mall in the world and a place where you can own this:

I don't think this will ever work, logistical nightmare.
