Yeah, that's what seems likely. With most of the league on a roster crunch, are we really that worried we aren't going to keep one of these guys? And if so, where was that worry on Beliveau?

The ease of solving the "problem" is what makes it so weird that we're on day 35 of the saga.

Yeah, its what gives me hope that we've got a trade of some sort coming. I think Raley would slide through right now. Castillo too. Maybe Clevenger. Honestly, I think someone would pick Campana up. I just figure the length of time this is taking, they're trying very hard to move something. I've just never expected it to be a 2 spot swing on our 40 man. Lake for Gilmartin, Vitters for Sonny Gray type deals are more in line with what I'm thinking.

On the bus. Saw this tweet:

ABTY7: (sans the obvious sarcastic joke) does the A. Soriano rumor to Cleveland have any legs?

Haven't seen it yet, but apparently another fairly well thought of Cuban has defected. Alexander Guerrero is a 26 year old SS who has put up some very nice lines down there (who hasn't) and has made all-star teams and such. Only scouting report of him I could find was pretty sparse. Said he had a solid bat, but was a 2B in the bigs. Said he was better than both Diaz or Alvarez.

Speaking of those 2, have they had their workout in Mexico yet?

Wow, must have some substance to it if he's tweeting it to Heyman. Lets see some details.

No, it got pushed back to the end of January. No reason given.

As far as Guerrero goes, it sounds like he just defected. Because of that, it's likely to be a while before he's cleared to sign. He could wind up as a FA for next year, especialky if he's got an agent unfamiliar with all these rules.

That's what I thought. Interesting that they are waiting so long for workouts.

Yeah, it will be interesting to monitor. He sat out the 2012 season, and anytime that happens in Cuba, it is just assumed that he was caught trying to defect and then suspended. So he might already have all his ducks in a row. Either way, I'm sure the Dodgers will give him the first $100 million contract to a Cuban.

Yeah, I want to see who we could pry away from the Indians for Soriano.
