If the Mets were run correctly, SNY would be a tremendous asset and not something Fred leans on to possibly keep ownership of the team.

The Mets should have significant financial fluidity especially if they had competent ownership.

Just look at how much money the Dodgers, Red Sox, Angels, Yankees, etc etc make from their tv broadcasting rights.

That's enough money to cover a significant payroll and then some and although the Mets don't make the annual money the Yankees and Dodgers would make from their broadcasting rights it would be still be enough money to field what on paper should be a good team.

They're seperate entities, forget SNY funding the Mets, it's not going too. They'll sell the Mets before SNY, that's what they're interested in.

The Mets are a toy, a hobby, they like being part of an exclusive club.

If SNY were really linked to the Mets, then SNY would have helped out financially in real terms, not just as a way of getting more loans.

I was once under the impression that the Mets were gonna use SNY and a new park to dominate baseball, the exact opposite has happened really.

Either way if they are reporting the network makes the team 175 million dollars a year and the Wilpons are entitled to 65% of that they should be able to bring in FA and increase payroll with the money they are just making from the network alone.
Certainly sound like a warm and fuzzy idea. Wish the Wilnotpons would see it that way.

SNY owns part of the Mets, and the Wilpons own a majority of SNY. SNY should give some funds to the team as it needs it.

I know that, are they transferring money over from SNY to fund the baseball team on the field?

    No they are not.

You need to forget this idea that the Wilpon's will do what you or I would with the Mets and SNY. The Mets are not the same kind of org as say the NYY, where the only game in town is winning the WS, the Mets will never be the kind of operation without regime change.

Over time, when they disappoint you time and time again, you will see who the Mets are under Wilpon ownership.

Not yet. They will eventually, whether that's 2014, 2015, 2016, etc.

Coupon mentions the new mall apart of the Wilets Point project, there will be incentive for the Mets to spend so they get more interest in the team(more revenue)

Yeah, they'll spend a little in the short term, but as a means of funding the team
    long-term, no way.

The Mets are a total mess financially, so why aren't the Coupons helping them out with SNY right now?

Long term the Mets are in better shape since our lower minors is strong and our core is likely to be established.

The Wilpons aren't helping the Mets with SNY right now because we are rebuilding and punting 2013.

    Ding Ding Ding!!

Although nobody in the Met's organization will publicly say it, it's been pretty obvious that 2013 was gonna be another casualty year. I mean a lot of us here have been screaming "2014 and thereafter", some of us since we joined lol.

The RA Dickey move just further solidified that train of thought.

You want a substantive run right?

Well a lot of these substantive runs in baseball whether it has been the Phillies, the Cardinals, the Giants, The Rangers, a lot of that has been built on the backs of better farm systems.

Acquiring higher 1st round picks along with the deals Sandy has made for Wheeler, D'Arnaud, Syndergaard, and the guys we already have should have a significant impact on the future.

Foundation is key here and the Mets look like they are building potentially a very good foundation with these parts.

Yup, I feel there is a lot to look forward to in the coming years.
