Can anyone explain the Shane Battier love affair? As a player looking at his next move being retirement, he comes to a stacked team, unifies them to a degree, starts shooting well from distance (.400+) and suddenly he's a glorified vet worth sending to the all-star game?
I admittedly haven't seen much of his play beyond the occasional highlight and stat-tracker on the NBA ticker, but I am genuinely confused.

I just saw that flop by LeBron when Hinrich ran into him, holy hell.![]()
The Captain.
Can you tell me what time that was? I wanted to rewatch it on ESPN3. At the time, it seemed a lot bigger of a deal than it ended up being.
I had no idea there was a Battier love train, but I wouldn't worry too much. He's obviously not getting in as a starter, and I trust the coaches enough not to send a guy like Shane Battier at this stage of his career to the ASG. There may be Vinny Del Negros in the league, but they're not stupid.

Thanks.
EDIT :: I just realized they fell on some kid.![]()
What flop though, dude is build like a TE and gets push around like he's some skinny CB.
Yeah, I didn't know if Hinrich had run into him or if Chalmers or something, but the way he reacted seems like it was a total flop. Kirk didn't touch him, and if he ran into Chalmers, it was a grazing at most.
Did LeBron touch Thibs' nutsack? He touched his leg and then moved his hand right into the area you don't want to with millions of people watching, so it was kind of an unusual move.![]()
