    2014 "Snyder ready to spend"

Anyone in DC listen to the fan? Someone said after the salary cap gate, that next season "snyder will be ready to spend". Meaning in 2014...... That was from a redskins beat writer. I guess that's when they trade kirk or not. But anyone think snyder is going to go bucwild or be aggressive and sign guys like joshua wilso/chirs chester or better when we get our money back?

I hope we just continue what we're doing now. Bring in a quality free agent at a position of need if possible (Garcon) and just continue to build through the draft. With the occasional Cofield-ish signing along the way. No need to dish out 90 million dollar contracts. We won the division with the youngest team we've had in a long time, and outside of Hall, there isn't a player on the roster that is making an absurd amount of money based on production (or lack thereof).

Use the money to keep our homegrown talent at home.

Has Snyder given up trying to recoup the "cap violation fine"?

I am OK with this as long as he spends on quality and not just superstars (as bullsfan said). I think Bruce Allen and Shanny are helping Danny Boy spend his money a bit more wisely which is good.

I think this just an easy article to connect the dots and write. When 2014 rolls around we will have a bunch of unused money(because the cap penalty will be over with). It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that we will spend more in 2014 and/or 2015 then we have in recent memory(under Shanahan). I still don't think they will go spending crazy though.

They may spend a bunch of money but the quality of players and contracts are going to be far better then what we have seen from past spending sprees. Bruce Allen has been fairly good at landing players on the cheap, with cap friendly contracts. As long as we spend the money on guys coming off there rookie contracts and not guys over 30 then go for it.

We'd also have to re-sign Orakpo in 2014.

    And Reed Doughty.

Reed Doughty's new contract is going to be a killer on our cap.

Not sure what other avenues they have to pursue. Didn't make any headlines, surprisingly, but I read recently that the collusion case filed against the NFL by the NFLPA was dismissed. I don't think it was on the merits of the case, because there was clearly collusion. I think it was because the NFLPA basically agreed to waive its right to file such a claim in the new CBA. Lots of money will buy you crafty lawyers.

dont need to spend actually.. we have a great core of young draftpicks and players under contract for a long time... orakpo is who we have to resign in 2014, but we should not spend at all imo....by then, we will have had 2 more full drafts..

I'm honestly not joking when I say trade Orakpo. I feel he's highly overrated and when it comes to coverage, which is what we need him for a lot more in the 3-4, he's terrible at.

Rob Jackson has proven he's much more reliable and cheaper. So why not try to trade Orakpo for a third rounder? Maybe 2nd if we're lucky.
