Oliver basically dragged his name through the mud and got nothing out of it..
I don't think he cares about what a handful of fans think about him. He tried to get $3,000,000 and it didn't work. I think a lot of people will be over it by the all-star break if he's pitching to an ERA around 2.30 and the Blue Jays are leading the division.
This was Oliver's last season probably so I can't blame him too much on trying to get the most out of the last year. He had no leverage though so in the end has to stick with the deal. If the Jays are in 1st place, I don't think he'll regret settling for 3 million to play for the Jays this year.
