Pretty ridiculous if money is holding them back in regards to Upton. Maybe they should have allocated a little less money to Youkilis and Ichiro and they possibly could have afforded a 25 year old RF with huge potential.

Exactly. Maybe the Yankees are playing coy.

You all need to just quit worrying about Upton and just wait for the young pups in 2014.....We have our own young players.

You just never know with the Yankees.

Hopefully they make some kind of move soon.

I want to see some action here.

As long as it is productive action.

Can't afford a 25 year old at 14 or 15 million a year but can afford a 39 year old ichiro at 12 per year?

Not even close to the same.

    6 mil AAV- Ichiro.
12 mil AAV- Justin Over-Hyped Upton

    Double the cost.

    Hi.

    Hi.
Upton is also a better player than the current 40 year old version of Ichiro.

Over the last 3 years -

    .290/.326/.373/.699 Averaged 77 runs, 7 HRs, 48 RBI, 37 SBs

    .281/.361/.469/.830 Averaged 95 runs, 22 HRs, 75 RBI, 19 SBs

And before everyone says Ichiro wasn't motivated because he was in Seattle, keep in mind Upton is in Arizona.

I was talking about contract cost

Plus Upton will cost too much in prospects

Sure, I'd like to have a young stud like Upton. Of course, I have never seen him play and his stats aren't all that.

But to match seattles offer.....are u willing to give up

    Banuelos
    Campos
    Depaula
    Sanchez

    ???

I wouldn't. And normally I prefer to unload specs.
