The point is that for less money than Upton will cost in 2014 and later, you could have retained Swisher and not have to part with 3 top prospects.
The only way that I'd trade 3 top prospects for Upton is if I could trade Granderson and get back 2 top prospects. Then it would effectively be Granderson and one prospect for Upton.
Really, we should have just kept Austin Jackson.
The point is that if you feel the way you do about Swisher, he and 3 top prospects and $1.5 million extra per year is still worth more than Upton.
That's the point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
So if you can't afford Swisher, you certainly can't afford Upton.

Justin Upton is fully available and for a low price. With that, the kid is young, talented and fits well in our team mold. Heard a interesting trade idea on the radio that would move granderson to Seattle for prospects and moves those prospects to Arizona. As a deal was done between Seattle and AZ but Upton enforced his no trade clause to Seattle. What do you guys think?
low price? ha!
I'd say let's go get him. His price has to drop, as the the Dbacks lost some leverage, I'm sure they are not to happy with Justin right now.
Hmm. Didn't know he was available . I would do that trade in heartbeat... We would have to add a little more than Grandy though but probably not much..
!Tank the season for Cardale Jones!
hes overrated
And what "prospects" are the Yankees going to get for Granderson? So they just flip Granderson for the package Seattle offered Arizona, and then get Upton? LMFAO
