    2012 expectations for Nate Schierholtz

Over the next 1-2 months, I'm going to ask you guys about your expectations for the players on this year's team. I'm going to try to get to most players on the projected 25 man roster. A new player will be posted in 2-3 days.

    Next player is Nate Schierholtz.

    2009:

    PA: 308, Avg: .267, OBP: .302, SLG: .400, OPS: .702, WAR: 0.9

    2010:

    PA: 252, Avg: .242, OBP: .311, SLG: .366, OPS: .676, WAR: 0.8

    2011:

    PA: 362, Avg: .278, OBP: .326, SLG: .430, OPS: .756, WAR: 1.4

What kind of numbers are you expecting from Nate this year? Include all relevant stats that you'd like.

As requested, Here's a template you could use:

    PA:
    AVG:
    HRs:
    RBIs:
    SBs:
    OBP:
    SLG:
    OPS:
    WAR:

    Previously projected players:

    Aubrey Huff
    Freddy Sanchez
    Brandon Crawford
    Pablo Sandoval
    Melky Cabrera
    Angel Pagan
So Anna, what do you think about the notion that Russell Wilson is better than Andrew Luck?

    .280/.340, 15 hr, gg

Would you trust a blind scout? Of course you wouldn't but that's what you do when you simply go by stats
Splifftone, OptiskeptSF and Ciaban have a lot in common

    HRs: 17
    RBIs: 59
    SBs: 10
    OBP: .330
    SLG: .450
    OPS: .780
WAR: He can single handedly win the WAR

No GG because he won't produce enough with the bat to be recognized... but he's our GG and if he can stay healthy and get the opportunity to actually play everyday... he'll be a fan favorite and produce with pablo and posey.

its hard to predict schierholtz cause we still havent seen a complete year out of him, but he has shown with more and more playing time he really can produce....which is sad cause he just turned 28 the other day.....

    PA: 450
    AVG: .286
    HRs: 17
    RBIs: 69
    SBs: 8
    OBP: 375
    SLG: 490
    OPS: 750
    WAR: 4.8

edit: also, do you plan on doing these for pitchers as well?

Yeah, I'm gonna do it for everyone on the projected 25 man roster, plus i'll get other players as well. After Nate, it will be Posey, Belt, Theriot, Fontenot, Whiteside (lol), and then i'll do the pitchers. Or I might just do the SP after Posey and then hit the bench/rp.

As Nate is getting closer to the gritty gamer veteran age, he probably will get a chance to actually put up some numbers.

    PA 520

    .288/.339/.441 .880 ops

    18 hr 70 rbi 15 sb GG

    .278/.339/.455

He will deserve a GG, but won't win it.

I think he'll have a miserable offensive season. Somewhere around Brandon Crawford numbers. .230/.270/.350.

    But, he plays D!

I'd assume we'll have another Bochy thread like we have the past two seasons...

Uhm, he's already established he can hit at this level. He'll be nowhere near those kind of numbers. He knows once he starts slumping his job is gone.

Btw, please, don't be a negative little prick this year.

I'll be a positive poster if the Giants give me something to be positive about. Last year was abysmal, plus I thought they would make the playoffs last year. Maybe i am negative but i don't jump at the team if they don't deserve to be attacked.
