Well Lakers fans are used to these kinds of trades so what's funny to the rest of the league is a practical theory to them. They were able to trade for the best center in the NBA by giving up an oft injured, inconsistent top 5 at best center in the last months of his contract.

PS Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol in his prime. Most one sided trade since I've been an NBA fan and probably top 10 historically. Disgruntled VC for scrubs doesn't count because the man was tanking in Toronto.

DWILL to Memphis For Rudy Gay and a Filler/Pick

Brook and Marshon to Sacremento for Tyreke and DMC

    Keep Wallace;Blache and Hump

Should Have Signed Shevd in the offseason (russian mistake)

DWill/Wallace/every pick available for Conley/Gay would be appealing but I don't think Memphis would even consider that.

Some of these ideas thrown out here are insane. Trade for Jeremy Lin? No. Trade for Rudy Gay? You could probably get him for Wallace+Hump or Wallace+picks or something like that, not your best player. The Lakers aren't trading Gasol to the Nets. They don't need a PG or a C, and they're not taking back a contract like JJ.

Deron Williams is not some chump player. He's the best player on the Nets and one of the top PGs in the NBA skill wise. You don't throw that away. The Nets already dropped Avery after he was Coach of the Month twice this season. Trading their top player would basically make them a laughingstock.

You don't trade Deron. At least, not right now.

Teams don't get great overnight. I guess some do, but they just function very well together.

Nets have all the things need to be a great team, well they could use some better 6th men.

I mean net's just got a new coach, and dust is barely settling down. I think most teams would be lost this season if the same things happened to them.

Joe Johnson, easily best shooter on the team. Brook Lopez is obviously effective and overall doing amazing. D Will, a great shooter, but his talents are better used as a True PG(pass first, shoot second).

The rest of the players are(at this point), more effective defensively. Blatche, Humphries, and Wallace are all amazing players, but they are just not producing as big of points(every night).
Like Evans, one tough dude to be defensive, but his offense is not hot.

Pretty much those who are doing great offensively should work on defense. And more importantly, all these guys who great defensively need to really work on being more offensive.

Nets should be the best defensive team with all these big guys, but I checked and their defensive eff. is #21(pts allowed is #5, which is a great way to win), and Offensive Eff. is #10. I think Net's should focus on being more defensive. If more teams could be defensive powerhouses like the Net's are capable of, they would win more games, and championships.

[QUOTE=krisxsong;24966473]What? Deron Williams is overrated cause he's having a bad season, whereas his past 5 seasons indicate he's one of the best players in the NBA? Yeah okay.

One of the best when he was with Utah.

after shooting 42% 45% 50% 47% 46% and 45% with the Jazz, Deron has shot 40% in 2 full seasons and 34% in 12 games with the nets the season he was traded. (that last stat I am not making a big deal about)

While he did average 12 assists during those 12 nets games, he has average around 8.7 and 7.8 assists the last 2 seasons with the nets which is still a good number but its down from his 3 seasons of averaging 10 a game. I like Deron Williams, but he has not been the same since coming here. I know he can be one of the best players in the league, but I meant overrated in a sense that he has been underperforming still to this day.

Jazz basketball functions best with a great point guard.

I think Deron learned a lot while growing up with the Jazz. I mean he went to western conference finals, and was an All Star(and won the skills challenge).

If you remember, he didn't do all this the first year he was there. I know we want the best of our guys now, and want to be great, but its all about the ride. You got to stop looking to replace people for others who might be doing good on other teams.

The best teams developed over time. I mean look at OKC, Durant and Westbrook took awhile to get to where they are now. So to me, the best hope/idea is to keep as much of the team together for as long as possible! Like Spurs. I don't like them, but they have done consistently great, longer than Dwill has been in the league

    I'm afraid you're wrong there

Your definitaion and mine of what a "scrub" is are definately at odds. Deron has never been a "scrub" nor is he now that he's playing poorly.

**** no. Jrue Holiday has been playing much better basketball than DWill recently, and at only 22 years of age. If I were the 76ers and I was trying to acquire more pieces to add to my roster, I would not go searching for an aging rusty point guard when I already have my point guard of the future.

    LOL

I didn't know 28 year olds were aging and rusty.

I guess you wouldn't go for LeBron either huh?
