That is a formula for disaster. If that happened it would be as bad an offseason we could have in the position we are in.

The main problem is FAs. That is a very horrible group of FAs.

Roland, Brace are fine, theyre just depth anyway so no big deal.

Delanie Walker is halfway decent but there are numerous guys out there that are better options. I like him but hes way too inconsistent.

Danny Amendola would make my blood boil. He is not fast enough to be a true slot guy, he has a serious injury history, limited production. You don't go after slot guys in FA that is a bad recipe in my rule book. You draft young fast guys for your slot.

Matt Moore is going to require more than we should be paying a backup. If we sign a veteran backup, it needs to be cheaper than him.

Keith Rivers looked like crap in Cincy, that's why they traded him and looked like crap in New York this year. He has been bad and he's getting older.

Mike Jenkins, I don't know what it is with guys I think they forgot how bad he is. He's worse than Eric Wright. Leonard Johnson is better than Mike Jenkins. Getting rid of Eric Wright and signing Mike Jenkins is like getting rid of a cold so you can get the flu.

Baccari Rambo should not be taken in the 2nd by anyone let alone a team picking in 12th. I wouldn't mind him in the third.

I like the spirit of the Stephan Taylor pick, but we have so many more places that we should address right there. You can get a good backup running back later in the draft. There are gonna be some serious players still left on the board there.

Don't take it personal, I just dont like the personnel

Nickel Corner Derek Cox (CB could be switched around)
Dime Corner Robert Alford (or L.Johnson depending on camp/preseason)
    DE Rotation Daquan Bowers

    KR/PR Stedman Bailey

This is excluding depth players like a backup OT and backup RB which I think we need as well

Lemme address these one by one.

Moore at QB: I can see us going there because hes perfect vet to compete with Freeman. He may be a little expensive, but nothing extreme. Looking at the FA QB list there is not much available at all. Hes the best option.

Amendola at slot: Picked him because hes the best slot receiver avail IMO in FA. I don't see how hes that bad. Hes one of the best players on the Rams when healthy. Sure hes got a bad Injury record. He may come cheap for that. Still worth taking a look. He and Underwood can compete there.

Rivers at OLB: IMO looking at the list Rivers is the only OLB I saw that could come cheap and be a vet presence. Q. Black is awful and with is recent injury he may not even be able to play again. The rest of the OLB FA's are either too old, too expensive, or not going to leave their teams.

Jenkins at CB: Hes is in a bad situation in Dallas. He hates it there. I think with a new team especially in his home town he can turn it back on. If people remember right he was a pretty fun to watch corner in his first couple years. I see you want us to get Rodgers-Cromartie, but for the price he may not be worth it coming off a down year.

Taylor as back up RB: I chose him because hes probably one of the best RB's I've seen in college in some time. Getting him in the 3rd IMO is a steal. Hes a pure hard nose RB like a Ahmad Bradshaw type player, with great quickness. Id love to get him to back up Martin. I agree we still need depth at the D-line and at DB, but I would not pass him up if he was there in the 3rd.

P.S. Martellus Bennett is not better then Walker in my book. Walker is one of the most underrated TE's. Hes just had to shadow Vernon all this time. I've watched quite a few SF games, and when it matters and its crunch time Walker has made some huge plays.

A slot receiver doesn't need to be a burner he just needs to know how to get open and find the gaps and not be afraid to go into traffic. Look at Wes Welker probably the best slot in the NFL by no means a speed demon. I would be ecstatic if we brought in Amendola he would be a good fit for us i do believe.

If we have to choose between Walker and Bennett its a good decision to have both are very good blockers and neither has really been giving much of a chance to catch the ball all that often outside of bennett got more balls this last season in NY. But if i had to choose between the two i would pick Bennett purely for his size i think we need another big body to help our redzone offense.

I think in both of your secondaries there's not enough experience. I really think we need to pair Barron with a seasoned FS that will help him grow into the all pro we all know hes going to be.

I completely agree with you about a FS..im just not sure it will get done. There are only two FS in FA I would take. Dashon Goldson and Jairus Byrd. I would absolutely bow down to Dom if he can snag either. If not grab Reid, Elam or Vaccaro. One of those 5 (maybe Jefferson and McDonald but Id prefer not) should be our FS next year

    My view:

Moore at QB: I agree that Moore is prolly the best free agent qb avaiable, but we will ot be looking to spend that kinda money on a backup qb. I think its more likely they will draft one.

Amendola: I don't know why bwall thinks he is so bad, I actuallly like him, but he will also demand more then he would be worth to us, plus im really against throwing around money towards inury prone players.

Rivers is bad dude, we don't need to be going there. There really aren't OLB's in this draft. I think this is another spot we address in the draft within the first 3-4 rounds.

Jenkins at CB: this is the position that we should be okay with spending big money at, as long as they are getting true upgrades. I personally think we shoud look to sign 2 top 3 CBs and still look at the position in the draft. I think we can do better then M. Jenkins with both free agents. I woulld like to see a combination of Cox, S. Smith, or Houston.

Martellus Bennett is better then Walker, and a better fit, but Walker is not a terrible grab.

Lol, I agree man! J. Byrd/Goldson tops my free agent list. I like your list of rookie saftys. The only difference for me is that I really ike T. Jefferson, but not so much McDonald. I woulld be real happy w/ any of those 4

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/...danny-amendola

    Danny Amendola

What is he bringing to the table for us? Not much. He's no Wes Welker. I am 1000% against Danny Amendola for this team. He should be used as a number 1 or 2 guy not a slot guy. He should stay in STL or go to CLE or MIA....somewhere where they dont have great options.
    Facts
Hes never has more than 3 rec. TDs in a season
He has 7 career rec. touchdowns and 4 career fumbles
He has played in 16 games once in 4 seasons
He rana 4.6 at the combine 4 years ago what you think he's gonna do now.

He's just a horrible fit, an average player.

St Louis is gonna throw him a decent offer, no reason we should spend money and get robbed worse than Eric Wright did us.

I agree, but I think that in a perfect world grabbing a Matt Elam from FLA in the second to play along side of Barron would be insane. I just know hes roughly the best safety this year so he'll likely get grabbed early. looking at the list of safetys its slim pickings.

I like your posts Gdubbz. I like that you highlighted Kenny Phillips, a couple of Super Bowls, I worked with his Dad for about 10 years before he retired!!
