    Last chance for Dale Murphy

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/hof13/story/_...-bid-hall-fame

Does he deserve to get in? Do you think, in his last year on the ballot, he'll make it?

He should be in looking at the others who are. Back-to-back MVPs, 5 straight GG, 4 straight SS and a stat line better than some and your telling me he isn't good enough?

Whether he deserves to be there and will be there are completely different things. I think the lack of success of his teams will continue to doom his fate.

You gotta cherry pick to find the guys whose stat line Murphy's is better than.

His comps are Al Oliver, Dave Parker, Rusty Staub, Jack Clark, Bernie Williams, Cesar Cedeno and Ellis Burks

None of these guys are hall of famers, and all but two of them had better WAR than Murphy did.

Who is he better than that has recently gotten in? He is close to Jim Rice, and he is one of the worst choices ever made.

Either way he isn't getting in, he won't get enough support. He was at 14.5% last year, there is no chance he gets in.

I want him in, but his only hope is the veterans' committee.

Outside of his extremely short (but awesome) peak he was not good at all.

Murphy probably doesn't have the stats to get in to the HOF. He however is among the best to put on a Braves uniform. He is a good guy and was a great role model for my generation. He is the reason that I and a ton of Braves fans are Braves fans. I would love to see him get in but through the years I have realized that whether he gets in or not, he will always be The Murph to me.
