Detroit will mess that young man up also the problem with drafting him is if the lions won't let him play his game he will be just another player

I've been hearing nothing but good things about this kid. I'd like him on our team, but he or tully would have to slide over to olb, which I'm not so sure either can play.

what was wrong with guys like bly, porcher, avril (last year) , delmas shines when healthy, fairley (this season when healthy), stephen boyd and ellis were both pro bowlers back in the day. shaun rogers...when not lazin about was a 2 time pro bowler.
probably could think of a few more but i just dont understand comments like yours.

"doesn't allow players to shine".. thats just a lazy comment.

our problem has been drafting players and signing free agents who don't have the talent to "shine" . its not "lions football" that is keeping these guys from playing their best, it's their own talent level.

He'd a be a great player to have. And why couldn't he play middle linebacker? Move someone else outside. I think he's going to be a STAR in this league. We haven't had a perennial pro-bowl caliber linebacker since Spielman--and this kid I think is much more of a game-changer. LB is not our primary need, but there really isn't a DB worth taking that high.

Chris Spielman??? Anyway, watching highlights of the guy and he reminds me of something along the lines of the Tazmanian Devil breeding with a rabid pitbull. Matter of fact, I believe Manti means Tazmanian and Te'o means Rabid Pitbull, don't quote me on that though.

That kind of leadership more so than anything is what the Lions could use above all else. No one on the defense really seems to have that. KVB was supposed to be that guy but he's old and useless. Bring in Te'o and I think he can be the one to help fix this mess. Although you'll have to get creative with he and Tulloch. Maybe run a few 3-4 packages, a few times Te'o outside, Tulloch outside etc.
