One thing concerns me with Amaré is that he's not asserting himself and looking like he's just fitting in when he along with Melo is suppose to be the leaders... and if he continues this ... i don't see him ever getting back up to that dominant level ... or being the second option on the team and that's the frightening part

I'm pretty sure what Amar'e meant was that he was being taught defense as an EMPHASIS, and that a defensive emphasis was rare to non-existent in his career. That's a common sense interpretation of his words, and it's probably true.

Even he corrected himself ...they just couldn't wait to take this out of context
