Dollar dollar bills ya'll.
Dollar dollar bills ya'll.
Not listed is "City/area of preference". That does not necessarily need to be my "hometown". For example, I'd prefer to play in Arizona, San Diego, Seattle, Denver, and would never sign to play in Arlington or Philadelphia no matter what they offered. As for NYC, my hometown, meh.
Truth be Told:
Baseball Maverick: How Sandy Alderson Revolutionized Baseball and Revived the Mets, by Steve Kettmann“The Wilpons and Mr. Saul Katz — the people who say they don’t care about the team are sorely misguided,” Ojeda told the newspaper. “These are the biggest Mets fans you will meet."
I'd go with my favourite team.
I feel like as soon as you become a Major League Baseball players you no longer have a favorite team as you are a part of the business. I feel like that's something you lose as soon as you are drafted.
Like many have said it depends on the point of my career and the difference in offers. First time free agent I'm going for the best money. Late in the career I'd go for home town.
Best offense.. I will be getting $$$$$ anyways, so why not get a ring while im at it.
My team, my city.
Yea like others have said, it's all about the money unless you are in the late stages of your career and have made a bunch of money already, then maybe I chase the ring or play a season for my hometown team.
I will actually base my answer off of what I do in MLB the show when I hit FA
because it is similar to what I would do in real life.
I would see where my hometown/favorite team stands. Are they entering a rebuild or are they contending/close to contending?
If they are entering a rebuild, I wouldn't want to sign with them yet, knowing that I could be traded.
I would sign with the team that has a good offense with an average+ defense or a team that gives me the best chance to win. When I hit FA, if the Mets are 1-2 years away from contending or already contending, I would lock up with them. You make so much money as it is depending on how good you are.
If You Ain't Huckin, You Ain't ****in
Its money, your career can change in the blink of an eye, all it takes is one injury and you could loose millions. Best to lock up as much as you can while you can.
KNICKS PATS SOX
I'd take the money
NBA - Miami Heat
MLB - Detroit Tigers
It's tough based just on the poll. Lots of things have to be taken into consideration. I wouldn't necessarily take the most money. Say the following teams offered four-year deals- Giants offered 8M/yr, Astros 11M/yr, and Nats 10M/yr, I'd probably take the Giants offer because they're my favorite/hometown team. But if they were trash and didn't show much chance of getting better, I'd strongly consider the Nats offer even though I'd love to play for my favorite team.
2010, 2012, and 2014 World Series Champions
I picked offense cause it would be fun to be apart of that
I chose "favorite team". The reason being, I couldn't imagine being anything other than a Giants fan. Whether they are good or not, or spend the least amount of money in the league, I'll always root for the Giants.
i would also immediately remove any option that puts me in pittsburgh

home town or favorite. I feel that overtime I would grow to like another team if I lived in the broadcasting range of it.
