    Ryan Mallett

Its coming out that the Browns are interested and will show trade interest.

ESPN's John Clayton suggests the Browns could show trade interest in Patriots backup QB Ryan Mallett.
The Browns are in the market for both a new head coach and general manager. Until that's settled, we have no idea what the feelings will be on 2012 first-round pick Brandon Weeden. In four preseason appearances this season, Mallett completed 33-of-67 passes for 300 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He barely beat out Brian Hoyer for the right to hold Tom Brady's clipboard.
    Whats everyones thoughts?

I've heard so many mixed things about Mallett. Some places you hear that the Patriots really like him and then you hear reports about his mechanics and how he holds onto the ball too much. Regardless, unless he is the next face of the franchise I say we trade him. We can prob bring Hoyer back for another year or two while we find a legit backup in the draft.

Maybe if we could swing something for Haden or Mack.

    Imagine a secondary of

    CB1: Haden
    CB2: Talib
    NCB: Dennard
    FS: McCourty/Gregory
    SS: Gregory/Chung

And we could really use a center, especially one as talented as Mack

Them giving us Haden for Mallet isn't happening. No way. Not Mack either.

If they hire Chip Kelly then I have a hard time believing they would want to swing a trade for Mallett.

Their probably kicking the tires to buy low. Probably like a 4th.

Pass. I want to see what we have in Mallet before trading him away.

    I'll take a solid 3rd rounder
Five rounds went by in the 2000 draft... After 198 other players had been chosen, the Patriots drafted him in the sixth round.
Owner Robert Kraft recalls the night he was leaving the old Foxboro Stadium when he saw "this skinny beanpole" carrying a pizza. "He comes up and says, 'Mr. Kraft, I'm Tom Brady.' I said, 'I know who you are, you're our sixth-round draft choice from Michigan.' "And he looked me right in the eye and he said, 'and I'm the best decision this organization has ever made.' "

Before we trade away QB Ryan Mallett for all the first round sections in the next decade and every good player in the league, don't we really have to look at where the story or speculation comes from?

"ESPN's John Clayton suggests"? John Clayton having the inside track on a New England Patriots move? Really?

It is cold out, but I am not sure that really means hell has frozen over.

Agreed. The posted article says the Browns could show trade interest in Ryan Mallet.

Also, Dynasty, I don't know how you can state that the Browns will show trade interest based on the blurb that you posted.

Player for player trades are very rare in football. And no matter who they hire as GM and Head Coach, they will likely have to pass a drug test which makes them very unlikely to trade Joe Haden for Ryan Mallet.

I'd be looking more along the lines of a 3rd or 4th round pick. Mallet hasn't looked all that impressive, the only thing he really has going for him is that he's still on the Patriots.

Ehh depends on what is being offered. 3rd or 4th rounder? Maybe. But I would like to hang on to him to see how he does. I think he just needs time. If the right deal come along, I'd look into it. However, I highly doubt the Browns are looking at Mallet. Extremely doubtful on that.

You almost wonder when your up 28 to 0 with about 5 or 6 minutes left and BB doesn't trust you to hand the ball off or convert 1 third down.
