Most of that is just an assumption, if you want the team to get better you don't do it by making the best position on the team weaker.

how is that assumption are you saying he isnt getting older and slowing down and that Odrick wouldnt fill his spot.

having 2 DT's getting paid and having no playmakers is doing great for us so far. Starks is replaceable

Titans signed WR Roberto Wallace, OG Casey Studdard and WR Michael Calvin to reserve/future contracts.
Wallace has an intriguing 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame, but couldn't crack the Dolphins' talent-deficient receiver corps coming out of camp. He'll have a hard time breaking into Tennessee's far more crowded unit next summer.

The Palm Beach Post mentions Dolphins OT Will Yeatman as a player who could be a starter in 2013 should impending free agent LT Jake Long leave.
Yeatman, 25 in April, is a converted tight end with solid athleticism. Head coach Joe Philbin was at the University of Iowa when they transformed tight ends Robert Gallery and Eric Steinbach into quality linemen. Yeatman has bulked up to 305 pounds now and is working out in San Diego with offensive line guru Hudson Houck.

They do seem to love him, but really your going to let Long go and replace him with Yeatman? A guy who has never started once at OT in any level of football?

Agreed, but I have far kore faith in philbin than I did in Ireland or sparano to do what's best for the oline. He actually made John Jerry look like a NFL player.

    Richie Incognito - G - Dolphins

NEWS: Dolphins LG Richie Incognito is a candidate for offseason release.

ANALYSIS:* Incognito is due $4 million in 2013 and doesn't have a long-term future with the Dolphins. He won't be guaranteed a roster spot if Miami upgrades their offensive line in the draft or free agency. Pro Football Focus graded Incognito as the No. 24 overall guard in their year-end ratings.

Just a update on cap issues.

Jake Long will cost $1.8M tords the cap no matter if we sign him or not. (His first deal was a 6 year deal, but the final year was voided)

I could NOT disagree more, because he will still want to be The MDs' HB (when he has a SB body and is injured each year) that takes most of the carries. Thus, If he would sign for League Minimum (I could draft two-HBs and get probably <it is The MDs' GM Jeff Ireland> one-HB <no SB body> to replace him) for each year, HE WILL ACCEPT BEING THE 3RD HB AND PLAYING AS A SB LIKE HE DID IN NEW ORLEANS!

Makes all the sense in the world to keep him. He's has shown everything you want in a player, and he's one of the few naked players averages fans know, makes all the sense in the world to keep him.
It was NOT a GIFT to SB (with positional title HB) Reggie Bush, he did give his all and produce some okay total yards and plays and for what is less than what other TRUE HBs would accept.

    I COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!

This would a move that should have people in the streets at The MDs' offices protesting, even if he turns into an NFL Quality LOT, healthy LOT Long was a ALL PRO, EACH SEASON! That is going to cost a lot of money; people here are suckers, I DO NOT BELIEVE FOR A SECOND LOT LONG WILL NOT BE RESIGNED.
AND EVEN IF HE IS LET GO I EVEN MORE DO NOT BELIEVE FOR A SECOND LOT WILL NOT BE OT MARTIN's POSITION & THEY WOULD NOT DRAFT A ROT WITH ONE OF THE PICKS, THEY HAVE IN THE FIRST TWO-ROUNDS OR
THEY LEAVE ROT MARTIN AT ROT & DRAFT A LOT WITH THE FIRST-PICK, THEY HAVE IN THE FIRST-ROUND!!

Dolphins CB Richard Marshall says his surgically repaired back has healed enough that he could play in a game today.
The Fins may hold Marshall out of early-offseason workouts as a precaution, but it sounds like he's pretty close to 100 percent. Marshall is currently the top corner on Miami's roster signed for 2013, as Sean Smith is a free agent. Expect Marshall to open the season as a starter barring something unforeseen.
Dolphins SLB Koa Misi was sentenced to three years probation and 400 hours of community service for his role in an April 2011 fight.
Misi's felony battery charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. It means the run stopper won't be facing league discipline during the final year of his rookie contract. The Palm Beach Post considers Misi an extension candidate, but we'd only expect the Dolphins to act if the terms are exceedingly team friendly.

Dolphins RE Jared Odrick says he will shed 20 pounds this offseason if he's asked to stay at defensive end.
He's keeping the weight on for now in case DT Randy Starks leaves in free agency and Odrick has to kick inside. We suspect Starks will be tagged if no long-term deal is reached, and Odrick will stay at end regardless. Even at the lesser weight, Odrick is unlikely to suddenly become an explosive pass rusher.

#Dolphins offered a low RFA tender to LB Austin Spitler for $1.323m and ERFA tenders to QB Pat Devlin $480k and CB RJ Stanford $630k

#Dolphins also picked up an extra $83,082 in dead money after an injury grievance with former TE Mickey Shuler from 2011 was settled

More housekeeping: Nolan Carroll's salary got bumped from $575k to $630k; CFL DE Lee Robinson got $495k, or $15k more than the minimum

And LB Koa Misi's pay gets bumped from $664,405 to $719,405. Cap number increases from $1.13m to $1.18m
