For one your still going to owe him 3M ish for the next two seasons, plus he would still have a 5Mish cap hit this season for us I think.

Also who do you replace him with? He is the guy who calls the plays for the D and calls the audibles when needed.

Replace him with anybody, he's overrated and expensive. I'm allowed, at least, one irrational and unreasonable argument per season, and I'm choosing to use it on the Dump Dansby campaign.

Pretty sure either Dimitri Patterson or Richard Marshall gets cut freeing up another 5-6M.

If Dimitri is cut we owe him nothing, I'm sure we owe Marshall something if he does.

Have you watched our defense when dansby isn't in there? It's a complete mess. Dansby may be overpaid, but were not getting anything better than him, and this year he was pretty damn good.

Incog and either dmitri or Marshall are gone for sure.

Almost $8 million is too much money to pay a guy who gets washed out of the run game and gives up on plays. Give Burnett or somebody else the ability to call the audibles. A whole offseason of experience doing it and Dansby won't be missed. Dansby is basically Sean Smith in linebacker form; he's doesn't make any plays, is inconsistent, and is going to get paid too much money for below to very average production. We need to replace him, and I would rather do it sooner than later. We need somebody who is smart and instinctual, which is exactly why I was pushing for Luke Kuechly for our 1st rounder last year. I want Zach Thomas back...

I'm a huge kuechly fan, but he gets bullied quite often.

As for dansby, I think because of his mouth and what he's paid people only focus when he does something wrong. Our defense falls apart without him in almost every aspect. The guy played very good this year.

I actually don't like dans by aka leader of men, but cutting him now adds a huge vacancy we can't afford right now.

Patterson, Marshall, Richie all should get cut. Resign Smith and draft 2 corners in the first 4 rounds.

    3: Shayne Skov
    4: Seantrel Henderson/Dakota Dozier

Why are Marshall and Patterson on the payroll? Anyways they were trash, we need to draft some good young corners, a an OT to replace Long, then who knows a Kicker? We could use another pass rusher to help Wake out too, but its not a top priority.

Pass rusher is a top need right along side of CB and WR. OL is also a need at OT and OG. Need LB depth as well along with a TE.

Call me crazy but I might leave RB's just the way they are. Assuming Lamar Miller has become more reliable with his assignments. If we start running more of the hurry up spread em out offense I think DT and Lamar will be just fine. I haven't been huge on DT myself yet either, I know some other people aren't. But the verdict is still out on him.

If we can spend the money else where I think we can be okay with Miller and DT. I think that's the way to go. I feel like Reggie will want more money. I think Reggie has been a great leader which is very important. He's shown great work ethic. So there's something to be said for that.

Reggie all comes down to money. If we can sign him to a reasonable deal than I'd keep him. If not I'd be comfortable with Thomas, Miller, and pick someone else up to compete.

Reggies last contract was a gift IMO, at 5 mill a year for 2 seasons. I didn't see anyone else giving him that, and I don't think he will get anything close to that this year from us or anyone else.

Makes all the sense in the world to keep him. He's has shown everything you want in a player, and he's one of the few naked players averages fans know, makes all the sense in the world to keep him.
