I think this move was more to push Akers and someone to throw in once he misses. Hopefully Akers can get over the girl that is causing him to miss these Field Goals LOL

mistake by the niners. I really wanted them to pick up Eddy Carmona. We brought him in for the preseason and he can make kicks from 50+. We didn't need him because we had seabass but really surprised no one brought him in. I thought he had a chance with the niners, why bring in cundiff? ill trust akers way more than him.

I guess Cundiff went 22 for 22 today during his tryout. Medlock went 21 for 22. Cundiff apparently also looked better on kickoffs.

I feel bad for Akers -- such a good guy. Had my fingers crossed for him through this slump. He had to drop his twitter d/t death threats..

But yea, while I want Akers to succeed, and Cundiff hasn't been spectacular even outside of his Ray Finkle kick last year....David is what? 5 of his last 15 from 40+?? Had to do SOMETHING.

I really don't even hate carrying 2 kickers. If the team thinks they can afford the roster spot, then fine. You can approach each game with David starting and give him the opportunity to get his groove back...and if he goes out and crushes a 3...great, keep it rolling...but you have an option if it's obvious he doesn't have it.
