Adrian Peterson - RB - Vikings
    Jan 1 - 2:42 PM

Adrian Peterson (abdomen, groin) was held out of practice on Tuesday.

It's become routine for Peterson to pick up extra rest during early-week practices. After carrying the ball a career-high 34 times while lifting the Vikings into the playoffs, he deserves Tuesday's off day. Peterson is in no danger of missing Saturday's game in Green Bay, where the temperatures are expected to be in the teens.

James Starks - RB - Packers
    Jan 1 - 12:08 PM

The Press-Gazette considers James Starks (knee) a "long shot" to be ready for Saturday's Wild Card game against the Vikings.

Starks hasn't practiced or played in a month thanks to a Week 13 bone bruise. Still, coach Mike McCarthy isn't ruling him out. "I know James is getting close," McCarthy said. "Hopefully he'll be able to get to the practice field this week, but we'll see where he is." Underwhelming DuJuan Harris seized control of this backfield in Week 17, playing 35 snaps compared to five for Ryan Grant and zero for Alex Green.

Randall Cobb - WR - Packers
    Dec 31, 2012 4:29 PM

Randall Cobb (ankle, knee) insists there is a "100 percent" chance he will return to face the Vikings in the Wild-Card round of the playoffs Saturday night.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Cobb was "close" to playing in Week 17, but the Metrodome's slippery surface played a part in the decision to hold him out. Although McCarthy has been steadfast about sticking with Cobb as his kick returner, Jeremy Ross' impressive performance has him reconsidering. The Packers won't make a decision on that role until later in the week. After Greg Jenning's breakout game, it's anyone's guess who will be the odd receiver out in three-wide sets with Cobb returning this week.

I am not confident either but I happy we made the playoffs. I definitely didn't see that coming when the season started!

I'm trying to fight the feeling that AJ Jefferson will cost us the game. He tried pretty hard last game.

Its the Playoffs anything can happen now guys,,,,Lets stop being scared of the Packers at Home and go in there and say its our time and kick some teeth in.....AP isn't done with these guys and Ponder I think is starting to become what we hoped he would become earlier this season, he has strung some good games together. Everson needs to see the field way more then Robison, and im a huge Robison fan.

out of all the teams in the playoffs the vikings are the only team that can run the ball effective everytime we have the ball. the packers cant run the ball but they can as we all have seen throw the heck out of the ball, and if winfield is out its going to hurt our defense in a big way. we have to maintain momentum and keep handing the ball to AP and go from there. im not picking a winner, i just want it to be saturday lol

Charles Woodson - DB - Packers
    Jan 1 - 5:57 PM

Coach Mike McCarthy announced that Charles Woodson (collarbone) has been cleared to return for Saturday's game versus the Vikings.

Woodson was doing real defensive work in Tuesday's practice rather being limited to the scout team. Sidelined since mid-October, Woodson will likely be ticketed for specific packages Saturday night. The future Hall of Famer should give the Packers defense a boost throughout the playoffs.

I know these back to back games are more common than one would think. It seems to me they mostly end up splitting. That said I've learned not to get my hopes up. I've had my heart yanked out many times, going back to Roger Stalbacks hail mary in 75.
Unless it snows this game has green and yellow all over it like a John Deere tractor.
Please Vikes change my negitive thinking.
