    Raiders working out former Packers and Giants CB Will Blackmon

    Former Packers and Giants cornerback Will Blackmon working out for the Raiders today

    This is likely a return game move. Blackmon sports a career kick return stat line of 81-1,674-0 (20.7 avg) with a long of 45 and a career punt return stat line of 67-643-3 (9.5 avg) with a long of 76.

    He returned a punt for a TD and a muffed punt for a TD in a game against us a few years ago, FWIW. He is 28.

    Well, due to his injury, Ford has never actually returned a punt in a real game. Maybe they realized the dynamic combo of Moore/Adams/Giordano doesn't cut it.

    We've kept McFadden this long we can surely keep Ford a little longer,he's an impact when he's on the field and he's one of the rare recievers we have that actually goes for the ball,he made Campbell look good a few times. I think this guy would be a good compliment to Ford.

    I don't know why, but the fact that Moore, who's supposed to be our best WR, had trouble tracking and catching a punt makes me worry about him ever becoming a good WR. In any case, my heart couldn't take another season of the 3 stooges returning punts...

    I don't like Moore returning kicks.

    I don't think Moore likes Moore returning kicks either, which is a big part of the problem.

    Could be, haha.

    I actually think Moore just suffered through the Sophomore slump. There's no doubt he looked dynamic as a rookie, the only question is whether he can step up his game in year three, after a noticeable drop-off in year two.

    I am just ready to bring in new faces on the defensive side of the ball; we desperately need some secondary help(DB), a Microphone/headset/play caller on defense (MLB), ad some pass rushers.

    I really hope RM goes all out and finally beefs up this defense..

    The difference between Omar Gaither's performance in Tarver's defense from Rolando McClain's performance in said scheme was eye-opening to me. Gaither, a 5th round pick 6 years ago, was frequently able to diagnose and make plays. McClain, a 1st round pick 2 years ago, has never shown a propensity for this in any scheme. It showed me that McClain is a big part of the problem and that Tarver's defense is functional enough to plug in a less talented MLB and let him be the leader. Players like Adams, Ross, and Carter were able to plug in and see a measure of success late in the season as well.

    McClain HAS to go.

    I thought Gaither played pretty well, he would be a nice veteran (cheap) backup/insurance policy. I'm still hoping for a new MLB in the draft, but it's nice to have some options at LB for the first time in....uh...I can't remember.

    Yeah, I would like to keep Gaither for depth as well.
