You only get so many chances and can't lose out to the Vikings in the division this year.
    Done - thank goodness

Great great day! This should have happened in 2007. No more defensive minded HC's please. We need an offensive mind in an offensive league.

I could see Smith maybe ending up in Minny as the new D coach.
Not that the current D coach has been bad, just up & down and he is only in his first season.

This doesn't make me happy. Lovie isn't the problem. He was the defensive coach, he didn't worry about the offense. The defense was average at worst throughout his tenure. They never got an offensive coordinator fit our players.

I really don't care either way, but firing Lovie wasn't the right thing to do

I think he ends up back in Tampa Bay, either as the head coach or d-coordinator. They have the defensive personel to do what he likes to do

mike tomlin won a superbowl and the 10-6 came on the back on 7-1 collapse that caused them to miss the playoffs, plus lovies bears have missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years

    the firing was justified

It wasn't his job. He was essentially the defensive coordinator since 2007. He wasn't the one in charge of developing quarterbacks or offensive linemen. He wasn't the offensive playcaller.

Like I said above, I don't really care. But firing him didn't fix anything. If they had hired a real offensive coordinator they would have been a lot better

everything is your job when you are the head coach. otherwise he actually would have just been the defensive cooridnator. the team choked, and has misse dthe playoffs 5 out of the last 6 seaosns.
