Report: Bobcats make serious offer for DeMarcus Cousins

    Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO

NBA GM wouldn't be specific, but says "if what I hear is true," Kings will have tough time turning down Bobcats' offer for DeMarcus Cousins.

For those asking about Kings-Bobcats talk, keep in mind that was take of one NBA GM. I gave all the info he gave me.

The speculation is DeSagana Diop (expiring), Gerald Henderson, Bismack Biyombo, and Pistons or Portland first.

Twitter, fwiw Rick Bonnell (Bobcats beat writer) says this:

@NCSportsBlog Also, Sam's job (no insult) is to throw out stuff and see if it sticks. My job (no apology) is to vet reality.

He is usually the last to know when anything big happens but I still am not sure I believe this would be enough.

My theory is Geoff Petrie told Amico that Charlotte made a huge offer. He hopes Boston panics and ups their offer.

It goes entirely against what Cho believes in with regards to the kinds of players we should have.

Yeah I see Diop expiring contract part of the deal while taking back a bad contract like Salmons or Hayes.

I think Charlotte would have to do this deal. Even if you have to add both of those picks as well as taking back a bad contract.

You'd still have a core of Kemba, MKG, Cousins, AND whoever you get with your own first this year.

I can handle that, even though I like Biz.

If neither of those guys could be included then you're looking at trading one or more of Kemba, MKG, this years 1st unprotected.
Henderson being a RFA makes him being added to the deal a no brainer. Bismack will lose playing time with Cousins there anyway.

a trade from one bad team to another. doesn't make sense.

bobcats are in huge need of a skilled big man. 'smack, mullens, and haywood suck with the ball in their hands, and then only one capable of shooting is mullens. 'smack and haywood foul a lot as well. i think its too much to give up for cousins though. even though it would be amazing to get rid of diop.
a cousins type player would do wonders for the bobcats, but a cousins type attitude would not. maybe we can hold out for zeller in the draft.
