I can agree with that statement. Frankly, I want him off the team altogether, though.

I was the one that mentioned him as a strength and conditioning coach. I am also keenly aware of his past transgressions with illegal substances and methods (BALCO, steroids) but the guy was innovative and very disciplined to his training regimine. How about his ties to supplement guru Bill Philips or his willingness to make an oxygen chamber available to any of his team mates in Oakland? I'm just saying that this is one area that he could be an asset to the team on. I don't think that the man's character is in question, but if we're talking as a LB coach I would pass. I agree that he provides nothing special in the way of insight on how to be a productive LB at the professional level. One has to look no further that his slow responses and speech patterns to realize this guy has suffered way too many concussions....

I guess my point is simply that the Raiders should not hire a guy with his past, no more than a bank should hire a person found guilty of money laundering to handle new accounts. Not if we want to rise to the level of being a respectable franchise. Not unless you want the league to set up a PED screening headquarters right outside of our Alameda facility. Hire Romo and you're just asking for MORE league scrutiny, not less.

Besides, Romo is not the last word on nutrition or personal conditioning. There are plenty of qualified trainers and specialists out there who don't have his tainted history. Any number of them would gladly sign on as an NFL strength and position coach. We don't need Romo. The only reason why his name is even coming up is name recognition.

Yep he had no reason to be worst than last year, worst case we should have been the same. We had 4 rushing td's all year UGLY! Knapp is a bum and even as bad as the D was at times Knapp took bad to another level and he can't blaim Russel this time!

Obviously you would take Star; I am still leaning towards trading down to get a second round pick. I just don't see Star being worth our only first and second round pick. Milliner at CB; couple of different LB; DE's. I would still trade down.

I am pleased that the O=Line coach was fired. Starting that free agent right tackle was devastating. I hope we get a good replacement.I would not be opposed to us using our #1 on that OT that is rated so highly. I think we have tools but we need to do a much better job at building a solid O-Line

I think all 4 of those area's were a big disappointment this year. I am glad they were all let go.

Pollack gone. means end of ZBS. Woooooooo. Time for D-Mac to prove it. His final season before he becomes a free agent. he performs he stays. he doesnt he goes. No need to release him before his contract rans out like some haters here want.

I am not for cutting him; but if the price is right I would love a trade.

Great post that sums up what most were saying at the beginning of the season. Allen was a late hire and as a consequence, he only had a limited number of experienced coordinators that he was either (a.) given permission to talk to, or (b.) could hire outright.

Whatever the case may be, I'm not making any excuses and clearly DA expects none to be made on his behalf as well. He corrected his wrong and fired Knapp today. Now we can finally put this to bed and move on.

Time to find out who is available...and please no one say Saunders. He had a hand in this year's performance, too. He was part of the brain trust and he had more input than many of you here are giving credit. It's time to go in a new direction.

Good point on Saunders being part of the problem this year as well. Basically we paid for two O-coordinators and got zero results.
