Queefs gave up a 2nd rd pick for him... That's an insane steal for SF.

There's also a conditional 2014 pick that could, but likely won't, become another 2nd rounder. Of course, the Chiefs would probably have to win the Super Bowl for that to happen. In any case, Alex Smith is not an elite QB, so even though he's an upgrade, this doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me.

They will give this years second and a "similar" pick next year. BUT it has to wait for march 12th when FA begins. I wonder if , in the leagues eyes, this is a done deal or if another team can up the anty?

actually... this trade might benefit us greatly. With Smith having found a team, teams with the need for a QB become more desparate. Imagine if Arizona trades up from the 7th to the 3rd to pick up Geno Smith, and we're able to send the 7th pick to SF for a multitude of picks (since they have a ton of picks in this draft) although they will be picking at the end of the 1st and the beginning of the 2nd. Maybe we can get their 1st, 2x 2nds, and a 3rd?

Not all of them will make the roster either, good team to watch for releases as we would still be #3 in the waiver order. I expect them to use draft pick in trades or to move up to get certain guys.

Well this is Andy Reid who thinks he's the QB maker. He thought he could make stars out of Kevin Kolb, Nick Foles and A.J. Feeley. His only success is Donovan McNabb and a semi-ressurection for Michael Vick. His desire to throw the ball 100 times a game will get any QB killed.

i'm so stoked about this. once RM cleans up the mess left from taking over as GM, the door will be wide open for us. DEN has maybe another year with Manning, Rivers will be gone in SD, and Smith brings KC back at least 5 years. can't ****ing wait. thank you KC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
