    Jets to pick #9 overall

    http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-dra...fl-draft-order

The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars both finished the season 2-14, but Kansas City gets the top pick due to a weaker strength of schedule. The Jaguars pick second.

Now the question about whom the Chiefs will take can begin. For months, West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith was the obvious choice. But Smith has faded down the stretch, including a subpar showing in the Pinstripe Bowl. With left tackle Brandon Albert facing free agency, Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M would be the front runner for the top pick. Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei may also get consideration for the top pick.

Here is the current 2013 NFL Draft order. It will change slightly based on the result of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. Remember, the first tiebreaker for teams with the same record is strength of schedule. Next is whichever team has a worse division record, then the team with the worse conference record. If all three are the same, there is a coin flip at the NFL Combine in February.

    1. Kansas City Chiefs (2-14) .516 SOS
    2. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-14) .539
    3. Oakland Raiders (4-12) .469
    4. Philadelphia Eagles (4-12) .508
    5. Detroit Lions (4-12) .566
    6. Cleveland Browns (5-11) .508
    7. Arizona Cardinals (5-11) .559
    8. Buffalo Bills (6-10) .480
    9. New York Jets (6-10) .512 (4-8 conference record)
    10. Tennessee Titans (6-10) .512 (5-7 conference record)
    11. San Diego Chargers (7-9) .457
    12. Miami Dolphins (7-9) .500
    13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9) .502
    14. Carolina Panthers (7-9) .516
    15. New Orleans Saints (7-9) .522
    16. St. Louis Rams (7-8-1) .537
    17. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8) .465
    18. Dallas Cowboys (8-7) .515
    19. New York Giants (9-7) .522
    20. Chicago Bears (10-6) .514

Picks 21-32 will be determined by the order of playoff elimination.

    21. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) (9-6) .496
    22. Minnesota Vikings (10-6) .518
    23. Cincinnati Bengals (10-6) .437
    24. Indianapolis Colts (11-5) .441
    25. Seattle Seahawks (11-5) .506
    26. Baltimore Ravens (10-6) .496
    27. Green Bay Packers (11-5) .508
    28. San Francisco 49ers (11-4-1) .504
    29. Houston Texans (12-4) .496
    30. New England Patriots (12-4) .496
    31. Denver Broncos (13-3) .457
    32. Atlanta Falcons (13-3) .421

Buffalo may be looking at Mike Glennon at 8, if he blows up the combine.

QBs have been known to jump into early 1st round after the combines, even if they are rated with 2nd or 3rd round grades.

I know Geno cooled off toward the end of the season, but I'd be a bit surprised if Glennon is taken before him.

The best thing to do is trade down and grab some more picks, the qb ill be focusing on if I were the Jets would be Nassib

best thing for the Jets was to lose today...we weren't going to the playoffs so no point in winning any more games...picking #9 isn't too bad...we should be able to get a quality player there.

Please god no Glennon. He's Joe Flacco part two. I'd rather draft some weapons on offense and start the Suck4Bridgewater campaign for 2013.

Doubtful with KC, Jax and Buffalo in the way.

However if KC passes on him at #1, with Jax wanting Tebow, perhaps a deal can be reached.

Something like Tebow, 1st rounder and a 5th for the #2 if Geno is available.

It would keep Jax in the top 10, as well as give them an additional pick with the QB they apparently want.

    Throwing it out there.

Trade back to the Rams pick from Washington in the 20s with the Rams 2nd and 3rd

Take Chance Warmack and with the next 4 picks take a RT, RB, QB, and another Guard

I'm liking Ande Ellingtonat the RB position.

Nassib did not impress me the few ops I had to watch him.

Just doesn't seem like the complete QB.

Jets need weapons and ultimately a QB, but this seems to be a weak draft in that department, at least in the first round.

Wouldn't mind Teo or an OLB at 9. Or just trading down. Maybe snag Montee Ball or Marcus Lattimore later on and wait and see after the combine what the QB situation looks like.

The Jets are really better off building for their next QB than trying to burn a high pick on one at this point.

I want Mingo. But if the draft doesn't fall the way we want then I'd see if St Louis wants our pick for both their 1sts.

Trading with Jacksonville is interesting if it doesn't cost us too much more then Tebow and our pick, but even then I don't know that I want anyone enough to do that. I just don't think Geno is a franchise QB, but maybe I a wrong there.

Someone else brought up Joeckel. I'd probably take him rather then trade down. And I would think about Eric Reid too. Maybe. That depends on what we can get in a trade.
