The Yankees can put together a potentially nice package. At the end of the day its just prospects for a young cost controlled power hitter. We are going to obviously pay a large ransom for him if we were even going to get him. The Marlins are in no rush to trade there best player. I actually think that the Yankees would need to get another team involved to get Stanton. Management will have to decide if getting this player would be worth pretty much gutting the farm system.
Well, lets see. How many guys on our roster or in our farm are better than Stanton. The answer is zero, sans bob.
So, the correct decision is to give them anyone they want.
Stanton might be the best human on the planet besides trout with regard to talent, cost, control.

At some point there does need to be a limit. If we start trading too many guys we'll be left with a bunch of overpriced vets and Stanton. We do need to have some prospects and youth, otherwise we won't be able to afford to fill the holes we open up in our rotation, at catcher, etc.

What I would realistically offer and what they would realistically consider are quite a distance apart... Yes, they are listening to offers... that can be translated too: "we'll listen, but unless someone blows us away we won't consider"
So, don't expect it to happen unless someone guts a very good farm system to get him.
Even if we put together a somewhat decent package, it wouldn't be enough and plenty of other teams could top it if they wanted to.
