    Who knows what he was thinking. I found this in an ESPN article:

    Thomas told Schad he has been told he could be drafted "all over the board" and "hopefully I do get drafted and I can go in there and keep working hard."
    So he knew he might not get drafted. Maybe it was a money thing?

    there was talk that Bennett had a decent shot of beating Thomas out for the job, though, too after the former had some playing time last season
