Shaq's Jewelry Line: From Zales

So I got dragged to a couple of jewelry stores over the past couple of weeks because a friend of mine has been shopping for an engagement ring for his fiancee and I noticed in one of the stores that Shaq has his own jewelry line at Zales (check it out here):

funny thing I noticed, there were a lot of crosses in the collection, but Shaq's Muslim? I thought that was kind of odd.


Anyways... I think Shaq is overreaching a little and trying to brand himself ala Jordan.

Not bad. Does he need the money? Doubtful. But why not? Shaq is a legend anyway, despite random children trying to discredit him all the time in the NBA forum, he does wht he wants.

It's all about the money. He was always thinking of businesses to own and ways to make money outside of basketball, a very smart move. Unlike most other athletes, he actually cares about his investments and will set up his family for future generations.

Read Shaq's book... He invested his money so well throughout his career. He invested in google before they hit it big, and now he's getting big checks from them.

I'm aware of that, but that said, none of my Muslim friends wear crosses (or, by extention, the star of David). Those are symbols from other faiths, so yes, even though Islam incorperates elements of the Judeo/Christina culture into their beliefs, it is far from common for them to embrace symbols from those religions.
