Monday has come and gone with no trade of DeMarcus Cousins to Boston.... another prophecy gone the way of the Mayan's.
Relax. Been in contact with aliens. Showed them Space Jam. They think they can clone all the best traits of Russell, Jabbar and Olajuwon into one FA player. Working on getting DNA samples from each as we speak. Keep this quiet. Only Celtic fans and then only on a need to know basis. "It" should be ready before the end of the week. Taking suggestions for what we should name "it". Any ideas?
No way I empty the roster for Cousins, Bird Fan. You are usually one of the more reasonable posters here, but J. Green, Sully, Melo, Lee, 1st for a talented but troubled player like Cousins is a HUGE risk. Especially so since he only has one year left on his contract.

SI: Statistics suggest Joel Embiid will fully recover from foot surgery. But it could be 9-12 months before he plays http://bit.ly/1qwZuIB
Not saying this is what should happen, just fooling around with the trade machine. Obviously, Sac probably wouldn't do this but I figured I would share.

[CENTER]Celts, Sox, Pats, Bruins
^ man would that be nice. It would wreck the team for this year. Rondo is like KG's son. IF you think the perk trade killed the chemistry of the team a couple seasons ago, imagine what would happen if they lost their PG.
The name is Amendola....
...Danny Amendola

I've read by multiple posters the maloofs are big on Cousins, looks like they aren't going to be in the picture anymore. Does this up chances he is traded?

Tough to say if it helps or not.
I think Cousins firing his agent John Greig, to go with Dan Fegan helped more. That happened a couple weeks ago.
When players want out, they hire Dan Fegan. See > Dwight Howard.. More importantly, involving the Kings & Petrie, see > Ricky Rubio, & Kevin Martin.
Petrie and Fegan go back a bit. Known bad blood exists between these two. It started in 09 with the Rubio thing, & then Kevin Martin's situation. Martin left town as soon as he hired Fegan as it was widely known at the time that Petrie wasn't to happy with Martin & the hire. Fegan is known for being influential, & he more likely wants to find Cousins a new home....
On the flipside, Geoff Petrie (Kings GM) was the GM of the Portland Trailblazers back when Ainge played for Portland (after Sacramento). They have a solid relationship, with Ainge even praising Petrie back in 03 when Petrie was rumored for the Portland job(s).
Funny thing is, Ainge was seeking a contract extension with the Blazers back in the Petrie era. Petrie wouldn't extend Ainge's contract in 1991 with one year left, so Ainge played out the deal and signed as a free agent with Phoenix the next summer. It was probably Petrie's worst move during his time with the Blazers (although Petrie said he made Ainge an offer).
Petrie, you owe him one.

Good insight, thank you.
If things trend in the direction that it looks like they are, Cousins to Boston may not be that unrealistic. His price tag may have dropped a little too, hopefully, not because of his play or character but because of some of the existing relationships in that organization now it may get to a point where their only option will be to get what they can for him.
Still kind of think it may be a long shot but we shall see.
Would like to get an undisputable good character guy for once, but his ceiling is obviously high.
With recent Sacramento interest in Rudy Gay and Memphis interest in Tyreke, why not a 3 team trade
R.Gay, B.Bass, J.Terry, picks to Kings
T. Evans, F. Garcia, F.Melo to Grizzlies
D.Cousins, J.Freddette to Celtics
Rondo/Jimmer
Bradley/Lee/Barbosa
Pierce/Green
KG/Sullinger
Cousins/Collins/Wilcox

Because the Grizzlies get absolutely screwed in that deal
