I don't think they are. Honkies is an insult but I've never seen Indian or Brave used as an insult. I think it would be an honor/respect thing.

So when they play those drums and mock natives by singing as well as other things, that's okay? Natives aren't insulted? Is that why they protest every Indians game? The chopping and chanting in Atlanta is okay? You'd have to be an idiot not to believe that these things are very insulting.

If I were a Native American, I think that I would find that Braves hat fairly insulting.

Not sure how I would feel about the team names, other than the Indians. That one wouldn't bother me. It's so unbelievably stupid that I would just find it to be funny.

It's just a logo, relax. There's more serious problems in the world. A team's logo/name is just a logo. It's not like they're logo is an Indian guy with a casino chip in his hand or something of that nature.

As for the Braves cap, I get why Indian and Redskin are offensive. But Brave? How is that different from Vikings, Trojans, Spartans, Knights, Cavaliers etc? Would it be bad to have a team called the Seattle Samurai? Maybe there's something to the etymology that I don't know. I'd like it if someone could actually shed some history on the term and that specific image (I get the issues w/ Chief Wahoo) beyond just "they're racist"?

I think it's because they don't exist anymore, who was the last person of trojan descent that you met? The Vikings got their name because Minnesota is full of people who are of Swedish, Danish, Norwegian decent, and once again, there are no vikings in the world.

Native Anericans protest because we kicked them off their land and have them living on reservations where they get drunk and take a dump everywhere and are still pissed about it. If you don't believe me go drive by one, they are extremely vile and rude people from what I have witnessed and the ones I have been around.
