    Flacco-Eli Parallel

Eli was 27 when the Giants won in 2007 - it was his 5th season
Flacco is 27 this year and is in his 5th season

Both were highly scrutinized throughout their careers due to lofty expectations.

The Giants won it all in Strahans last year and he rode off into the sunset.
The Ravens are trying to do the same for Ray Lewis.

Both teams were mainly based on running and defense until the playoffs came around and now Flacco is on fire and Eli had a great post season in 2007.

The Giants came in as a wildcard an got hot, behind Eli and beat the best teams to win the championship, including the 17-0 Patriots.

Flacco and the Ravens had the worst record of all AFC playoffs teams and beat Peyton Manning an the Broncos, and the Patriots who almost matched (or did they surpass?) their total points from the Superbowl 2007 season.

Eli had 6 TD's an 1 interception throughout the playoffs
Flacco currently has 8 TD's and 0 ints.
Do the Ravens win it all this year and is this the year that Flacco takes the momentum and turns into an Elite QB?

Let's see Flacco do it once, let alone twice.

    When the most is on the line . . . Eli's 4th QTR Superbowl numbers 19-28 for 270, 3TD 0 int

How do their career numbers compare?

I always thought Flacco was extremely underrated.

Those numbers are DIRTY. Hope Flacco can recreate an Eli performance next week.

Doesn't mean he is going to win it or win multiple ones like Eli has.

He has a shot. A few receivers failed him over the past few years and he isn't making mistakes. Mistakes that Peyton always seems to make in the playoffs.

    Good luck

Yep, mentioned this in the Superbowl thread. No matter who wins the SB (Kaep or Flacco), be prepared for a bunch of "is he elite?" talk. You can blame Giants fans for setting that precedent.

Michael Kay asking the question, ESPN and the NFL Network had nothing to do with it. It was the millions of Giants fans. lol - only on the Internet
