I have.
Now tell me why they're moving payroll over to 2014, when according to you, they want to spend in 2014?
Also, with $33M spent on 2 players, where is the money coming from?

I will believe the Mets will spend money again when they actually spend some.
Please show me all this money we are moving to next year? David Wright only deferred 3 million dollars this year.
We don't know the full breakdown of Bays buyout yet.8 years/$138M (2013-20)
signed extension with NY Mets 12/12, replacing option in previous contract
13:$11M, 14:$20M, 15:$20M, 16:$20M, 17:$20M, 18:$20M, 19:$15M, 20:$12M
Wright to defer $15.5M ($3M in 2013 and $2.5M annually in 2014-18), reducing present-day value at signing to $134,015,678
Other than that where is all this money we are moving to 2014? Months ago people had Dickey's 10-12 million for next year. However he was traded. I think Niese gets a 2 million dollar bump.
So your wrong about the money for 2014.

There it is.
I'm not wrong.
Yeah you are because you don't even have Wrights proper breakdown. So your spread sheet is wrong. You haven't showed me where the money is. We have 3 guys under contract. David Wright, Johan Santana, and Jon Niese. That is 33 million dollars. Niese gets a 2 million dollar bump with his contract. David Wright earns his normal salary. Johan will be bought out so no extra money there.
So again I ask you where all this money is coming from?

I have to say not sure yet.
While I am happy with the Dickey trade..and some of the moves we have made to bolster our System, I have about zero faith that our Owners are going to be able to spend any money whatsoever in the coming years to supplement our young players coming up.
I have no problem with them not spending money right now..quite frankly there is not much out there this season...that will make much impact on our team. But with the financial disaster these owners are in..what makes anyone think that they will spend any money in the near future? There is a distinct possibility that when the money comes off the books in the coming years, that they will just not replace it(my biggest fear). Everyone on here seems to be assuming that they will spend money to keep us at a certain payroll level.... What have they done recently to make you so optimistic???
I am a Huge Met fan...have been since the late 60's..and always will be, but I am really having a hard time believing these Owners are willing to spend any money anytime soon(I get the feeling they think that Wrights signing will make everyone content for now)..I SURE HOPE I AM WRONG.
As good as I think that our young players are going to be...it is not enough to make us playoff competitive in the near future without at least a few pretty big free agent signings in the next few years..THERE HAS TO BE A HAPPY MEDIUM OF YOUTH AND VETERAN ADDITIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL!!
I think they'll sign somoene like Hart or Pence and then a few solid players to fill the remaining holes.
