but how the hell do i draft players? or do we just pick? if thats the cast 4 or 5 of the players will be the same for all of us

You start any player you want, you just can't use them again for the rest of the playoffs. A guy like Brady will probably get started on 90% of teams one week, but there are 11 man rosters, so chances that 2 teams are exactly the same throughout the entire playoffs are slim to none.

A good strategy early on is to use players from teams that you think are gonna lose. If you use Brady week one, and Rodgers week 2, you won't have a QB to use in the Super Bowl.
