    STATS:

    ...............

    Key Match UP

    Jose Calderon v. Greivis Vasquez

    MHC TAKE:

The streak was great while it lasted. The Raptors lost their first game after winning their previous five straight contests. Toronto looked completely out of synch in the second half as the Spurs cruised to an easy victory outscoring the Raps 56 to 43 in the second half. Tonight the Raps have a much easier opponent on paper; the 6-22 New Orleans Hornets. The hornets have struggled a great deal throughout the first third of the season and continue to miss their star guard Eric Gordon. The hornets currently start their two prized rookies; Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers as well as the unproven Lance Thomas. Toronto needs to take advantage of their huge mismatch on the wing with DeRozan going up against Rivers. ESPN recently posted an article about the struggling Austin Rivers stating that statistically he is the worst player in the league since 1979-80 season. Rivers is currently on pace for a -6.9 WARP (Wins above replacement player). This would be the worst WARP in 30 years. Rivers is also only shooting 34.6 percent of his shot attempts inside the 3-point line. Toronto has to take advantage of this match up if it looks to win this game down in Louisiana.
    Lets go Raptors!.

If anyone gets a chance to read "MHC take", please do. I posted some interesting information I read about Austin Rivers and how truly awful of a season he is having.

If we can some how go 6-2 in our next 8 games that would put us at 15-22 and in a good position. Not impossible but knowing the raptors you never know.

He is playing, coming off the bench. And with regards to Rivers, I think everyone was really keen on seeing how he would take his scoring to the next level. I still think NO should have gone with a player like Lamb as his height would be more suited for the 2

Lowry (triceps) is expected to play Friday at New Orleans, barring a post-practice setback, TSN 1050 AM reports.
Recommendation: Coach Dwane Casey relayed the news, though we already know that Lowry will come off the bench when he is cleared to play, hindering his fantasy potential. His injury concerns this season make him very difficult to trust for production outside of deeper formats.

I can't see how we can possibly lose this game.

Our depth, and overall roster skill level is far greater than theirs.

Anything is possible man. If we fail to close out their 3 point shooters (i.e. Anderson), I can see how this game can go sour for us. Demar needs to also be attacking like crazy. He should get the benefit of the doubt against the rook.

Lopez is way better than Gray for sure but I'm not ready to say Davis is way better than Ed as of today.

This is a game where you give Ross 30 minutes+ to see what he can do against a crappy team.
