Trade Pau. Let's try to win this thing now!
This team is hopeless. 2014 is our only chance.
-Dwight + someone for Marc and Conley (and possibly 1 other piece: tony allen?)
-Pau and blake for Ben Gordon, Sessions, filler
-Blake and ebanks (do we have a pick?) for Lowry

^ if we could get Lowry that cheap..... Man....
It's time to shake things up. Nash and Pau need to be dealt.
LAL gets: Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green
BOS gets: Pau Gasol, Darius Morris, Antawn Jamison
LAL gets: DeMar DeRozan, Jose Calderon
TOR gets: Steve Nash, Earl Clark, Devin Ebanks, Steve Blake
LAL gets: Anthony Morrow, Anthony Tolliver
ATL gets: Jordan Hill, Jodie Meeks
This would give us a lineup of:
Boston always seems to be looking to deal Rondo and they would get Gasol, a young PG in Morris, and Jamison to fill Green's role. Toronto finally gets Nash and gets rid of Calderon... basically a switch of 2 young athletic forwards in DeRozan and Clark plus they get Ebanks and a back up to Lowry in Blake. Atlanta gets Jordan Hill to replace Josh Smith if he leaves this offseason and a shooter in Meeks to replace Morrow. I think these trades work for all teams involved and this would convince Dwight to stay and get to play with Rondo. Then all we would need is for Jerry Buss to take back the team from Jimmy Boy and to fire D'Antoni and everything would be perfect...
The answer to our problems is a huge swallowing of pride for the FO.
Sack D'Antoni and pay him out ( ouch !!)
Trade Nash for Calderon straight up.
Hire Brian Shaw and play the triangle.
Those that prosper.
Bryant - half court offense
Gasol - play the post
Howard - weak side D but with Gasol and Calderon feeding him would get all those easy shots he needs.
Meeks - 3 point oops a plenty.
Clark - good inside out player.
Jamison - good inside out player.
Artest - half court game.
Duhon/Blake - half court game.
Hill - weak side D and O.
Nash on the other hand could re-invigorate Bargnani.
If you could go Nash/Ebanks/Duhon for Calderon/Kleiza AND sack MD for BS we would be back in it IMO. Kleiza is a big mongrel unit who can play inside out and is a stretch 4 of some note.
SHAW could run a pseudo triangle on the fly which Howard would be able to pick up quick playing weak side. More players would be able to handle the half court offense and the team D offset.
IMO the only move we can make right now is to trade Pau. If we do that we are almost certainly going to take back salaries that extend beyond 2014 thus ruining are chances to be a major player in free agency that year. I think we should trade Pau now and worry about rebuilding later. Kobe is a once a generation player and he deserves better than this ******** for the last years of his career.
can i vote for both?? id trade pau now definitely, but absolutely no (realistic) trade will save this season; just make sure the trade doesnt screw us into not being able to rebuild in 2014
Honestly, it's too late to make a difference for this season. Unless your getting young assets back with decent contracts, and a pick what's the point?
& the only choice left was to make a major trade, would u be happy with this trade
it most likely wont happen but just a thought
The Lakers were smart enough to trade away TWO first round draft picks to the Suns for a 38 year-old Steve Nash. I am sure there are some playoff-contention teams that would be willing to let go of a first round pick or two for a 32 year-old center that is an all-star 2-time champion...OR a 33 year-old defensive stopper have a solid season.
C'mon...as bad as people want to poo-poo the players, I am sure there are plenty of teams that would love to have our problem children. From Kobe and Dwight down to Antawn and Meeks. As long as d'Antoni is the coach, these players are being wasted on a system that doesn't work. Trade away if you can get get the Lakers draft options rebuilt, otherwise FLUSH d'ANTONI and ride out the players' contracts with a coach the lets the players play.
Goddamn everyone. Stop making the same threads. They literally all connect in some way. Jesus. We get it. You hate our season and are frustrated with the FO. ****.
