Karsten Whitson missing the 1st? Now that he's healthy again, I figure he winds up inside the top 10. That said, I'd love to get a shot at him in the 2nd somehow. That said, gotta wonder how Jed and Jason feel about him, after he changed his mind on signing with them at the last minute.

I have him going in the comp round. He is a guy I think with a good year and can show he is healthy will rocket up draft boards.

Lol. Yeah man...if your going to post a mock draft, you don't need to post it in every single forum. There is a general forum...

Is there a reason why the Astros would pick Appel after passing on him last year?

I would think the Astros would have a little more leverage this time, as he won't be able to go back to school. I'm not entirely sure what he could say his other options are though if he doesn't sign again.

Is that because you think they'll go position player? Personally I wouldn't be at all upset if they went with Clint Frazier given how much riskier pitchers are.
On a side note, I know it's a virtual impossibility but getting Whitson in the 2nd would be indescribably awesome.

Can guys still play in the independent league for a year and re-enter the draft ala JD Drew, or have the rules changed since then?

I thought after a player and a team can't come to an agreement, the player has to agree to allow the team to draft him again otherwise they can't. Maybe I'm imagining that, but I thought that was the case.

Aaron Crow did it in 2008/2009, but I'm not sure after the new CBA.

    THE BUZZ IS BACK!
