    Thoughts?
"...more talking went on between us all until [Roethlisberger and his entourage] left the bar. Then I seperated with [name redacted] and the other girls and went with another group, and everything else happened, and I was told about it this morning and felt I needed to give my statement. Looking back and hearing all of the details, it seems to me that it was a set-up, and so I think this needed to be told."

    Offense

QB - Ben Roethlisberger, Brian Hoyer, [FREE AGENT] (Hoyer is a free agent and I'd rather get a guy like Colt McCoy to be the back-up. Someone younger with experience)

RB - [LATE DRAFT PICK], Jonathan Dwyer, Chris Rainey (Dwyer and Redman should be back and Dwyer should start)

FB - Will Johnson, [FREE AGENT] (no need for a second FB)

WR - [MIDDLE DRAFT PICK], Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Jerricho Cotchery (This fine, but people will miss Wallace if he leaves more than they think)

TE - Heath Miller, Leonard Pope, David Paulson (Pope is worthless, can't block and couldn't beat out a seventh round pick. David Johnson will be back and can be a blocker and back-up FB)

LT - Mike Adams, Max Starks (I'd like to resign Starks unless they think Gilbert or Adams can be the LT and only if he comes cheap. Adams played well at RT so maybe more Gilbert to LT. That's where he wants to play)

LG - Kelvin Beachum, Ramon Foster (Cutting Colon saves one million dollars over two years and he's better than these options. It's make more sense to keep him)

C - Maurkice Pouncey, [FREE AGENT] (Legursky should be that FA he's a solid back-up center)

RG - David DeCastro, Ramon Foster (of course it's DD here)

RT - Marcus Gilbert, Max Starks (Adams or Gilbert)

    Defense

LDE - Ziggy Hood, [MIDDLE DRAFT PICK]

NT - Steve McLendon, [MIDDLE DRAFT PICK] (Ta'Amy unless they cut ties)

RDE - Cameron Heyward, Brett Keisel (Keisel may be gone if he doesn't take a pay cut)

LOLB - LaMarr Woodley, Jason Worilds

LILB - Sean Spence, [FREE AGENT], [LATE DRAFT PICK] (Sylvester and Foote could both be back)

RILB - Lawrence Timmons, [LATE DRAFT PICK]

ROLB - Jason Worilds, [EARLY DRAFT PICK] (I agree Harrison is gone)

LCB - Ike Taylor, Cortez Allen, DeMarcus Van ****

RCB - Keenan Lewis, Josh Victorian (forgot Curtis Brown)

SS - Troy Polamalu, Will Allen (I'd keep Mundy over Allen because he will be cheaper and is a true SS which is why he struggled when playing FS)

FS - Ryan Clark, [EARLY DRAFT PICK], Robert Golden (I like Golden and hope he can get better. He's at least a good future back-up. I'd love to get Eric Reid)

    Specialists

P - Jeremy Kapinos (I think you meant to put Drew Butler)

    PK - Shaun Suisham

    LS - Greg Warren

I think you meant Mundy is a better FS. Because he was playing SS when Polamalu was injured. Clark was healthy playing free safety when Mundy was starting, then got benched. Will Allen came in and was far more effective. Just based on that, would rather keep him than Mundy. Time to finally sever all ties to the 2008 draft. The only time I really saw Golden was when he froze up and allowed Jason Witten an easy touchdown.

And I'm as big a Wallace supporter as anyone, but I don't know how much his departure would hurt with Haley's quick passing scheme. Doesn't require someone with Wallace's talents.

Spence starting is not going to happen. He's a second year player who missed his entire rookie season. Those players don't start in LeBeau's defense.

I hope they bring back Starks one more time, have Gilbert and Adams battle it out for RT, and I agree Colon's not worth it to cut. Creates too much dead money for next year. And he did have a solid season, penalties aside. Let him heal, start him at LG and have Beachum back him up.

And I like your idea. Pope is gone. Bring back David Johnson as a third tight end. I liked him. I didn't consider him to be a good blocker but bad receiver for a tight end, but rather a decent blocker and reliable receiver for a fullback. But being a 3rd TE behind Heath and Paulson might be the perfect role for him.

Miller is having knee surgery on torn ligaments from yesterday's game, so you might have to cross him off for the time being. They aren't sure if he'll be ready by next year's training camp.

Although Will Allen will be 31 next season so if we don't keep Mundy I'd rather let both walk and sign a younger player like we did with Clark)

(Haley could be gone though if he becomes the Cardinals head coach (being rumored) and who knows who would fill in (Norv Turner, Kirby Wilson, Whisenhunt?) and depending on who it is their offense may work better with Wallace. Not to mention Wallace claiming a double team every play opens up those short routes for Brown and Heath)

Spence starting is not going to happen. He's a second year player who missed his entire rookie season. Those players don't start in LeBeau's defense. (Never said he'd start, but he could platoon (like in baseball) with Foote or Sylvester)

And he did have a solid season, penalties aside. Let him heal, start him at LG and have Beachum back him up. (Agreed 100%. For those who don't know we would save 5.5 million this season and then owe Colon (techincally) 4.5 million in 2014 so we only save 1 million by cutting him. By letting Will Allen go we save 2 million so might as well keep Colon he's worth 1 million)

Thoughts in bold. I think I agree on everything with you except for Wallace (mainly because I have a feeling Haley will go to Arizona and W. Allen >> Mundy mainly because he is almost 31 and we could probably get a better young safety for similar money

I'd do it if he signed a minimum contract for a couple years. He played well enough to get to two AFC Championships with a great defense, but still. And he has been toyed around with like crazy in New York. If he actually had some decent weapons and a good defense again he could be productive and we all know Ben will miss some games each year so a guy with experience would be a plus.

That's true, whether Haley stays or goes would affect Wallace's effectiveness. But I still think part of his necessity and importance to the offense was because of Arians' incompetence. It's not just a Haley thing, but a lack of Arians thing. My ideal situation is signing Wallace long term, but if that's not possible I don't think it's the end of the world. The offense can survive with Brown, Sanders, Miller, Paulson and Cotch. As long as Brown and Sanders get over their inexplicable bonehead mistakes, but being in their fourth years I have no doubt they can.

As for Allen vs Mundy, I think they like veteran players who have been there to be backups. Chris Hoke is a prime example. Especially with Polamalu's injury history where the backup will probably be playing a lot. This isn't a young guy for the future, this is who's better now. And Will Allen is currently better than Mundy or any young rookie they're going to draft. Even if it's Elam or McDonald or Reid, I'd expect him to be third behind Troy/Clark and Allen.

And about the Spence part, I actually meant to be responding to DBR's original depth chart. I kinda jumped around on that post haha, sorry.

    Offense

QB - Ben Roethlisberger, Brian Hoyer, [FREE AGENT] Not a big fan of Hoyer, I say a FA and a 5th-6th round draft pick

RB - [LATE DRAFT PICK], Jonathan Dwyer, Chris Rainey Starting a late round draft pick? I like the idea of selecting someone but they should back up Dwyer. Also retaining Redman for a year as a veteran backup would probably be wise

FB - Will Johnson, [FREE AGENT] A 2nd FB isn't really needed

WR - [MIDDLE DRAFT PICK], Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Jerricho Cotchery I'd like to see a FA and a middle draft pick brought in. Brown and Sanders can start. Going to miss Wallace but I agree his time here is over.

TE - Heath Miller, Leonard Pope, David Paulson Please no more of Pope, Paulson looks like a decent #2. Find a 3rd TE/ 2nd FB elsewhere, maybe David Johnson

LT - Mike Adams, Max Starks Looks good to me

LG - Kelvin Beachum, Ramon Foster Not sure I want Beachum starting yet. Maybe let Foster handle it or keep Colon

C - Maurkice Pouncey, [FREE AGENT] I don't think Legursky will be back either. He has shown himself to be a capable center some team will give him a chance to start

RG - David DeCastro, Ramon Foster Has to be DeCastro, hopefully he stays healthy

RT - Marcus Gilbert, Max Starks Starks would be a good swing tackle for this team although I seem to recall him struggling as a RT in the past

    Defense

LDE - Ziggy Hood, [MIDDLE DRAFT PICK] No complaints

NT - Steve McLendon, [MIDDLE DRAFT PICK] Perhaps Hampton back on a vet min contract or even Ta'amu

RDE - Cameron Heyward, Brett Keisel Heyward needs to be given a chance but I'm not sure we keep Keisel as just a backup

LOLB - LaMarr Woodley, Jason Worilds I think Carter and Robinson could come into play here

LILB - Sean Spence, [FREE AGENT], [LATE DRAFT PICK] Not sure I'd give Spence the job right away, maybe keep Foote around

RILB - Lawrence Timmons, [LATE DRAFT PICK] Seems about right, though I'd probably prefer a higher draft pick committed here

ROLB - Jason Worilds, [EARLY DRAFT PICK] I like Worilds not sure I see the need for a 1st/2nd round pick unless there is value

LCB - Ike Taylor, Cortez Allen, DeMarcus Van **** Looks Good although I could go either way with DVD

RCB - Keenan Lewis, Josh Victorian Hopefully we can keep Lewis, I have my doubts though. Also Curtis Brown should at least be backing up. Wouldn't mind an early pick here either

SS - Troy Polamalu, Will Allen Can live with Allen as the backup for another year

FS - Ryan Clark, [EARLY DRAFT PICK], Robert Golden Looks good an early pick at saftey (1st/2nd) is something that really needs to happen

    Specialists

P - Jeremy Kapinos Could be Butler as well or maybe a draft pick

PK - Shaun Suisham Good season, I think he has earned another year

LS - Greg Warren Doubt he will be back. He is set to make twice as much as a rookie would. Steelers seem to move on to other LS at this point, plus the slip up in week 16 could seal his fate. Maybe we can even save a roster spot by having Beachum do it?

Tomlin isn't going anywhere. It's not his fault. While I do obviously think he should be held account for the teams play, it's not all on him.

In saying that, he definitely needs a warning at least. The Steelers had the ball in their court when they were 6-3 and losing to teams like Oakland, Tennessee, Cleveland and barely beating KC is unacceptable.

The players love Tomlin, he won't be going anywhere

    Keep them both Nonis.

Tomlin isn't at fault for injuries and subpar replacement players. So to me Tomlin gets a pass for the season. We still did win some games and were in others that we had no business doing so. Biggest example is NYG game.

However the training staff needs to go. Too many players are getting preventable injuries (pulls and strains ect). That's all on the training staff to build a proper program that warms muscles and keeps them loose. We have to many issues with hamstrings calves and other muscles for it to be a coincidence.
Warning, my sig is NSFW. But hot damn is it hot:
