Arrow INFO: Total non-passing TDs by NFL team (2012)

A non-passing TD is any TD scored by running, defense or special teams. Behold...

Total non-passing TDs by NFL team (2012)

    33 - New England
    28 - Washington

    25 - Carolina
    24 - Houston
    22 - Baltimore
    22 - Seattle

    21 - Chicago
    21 - Minnesota
    21 - New York Giants
    21 - San Francisco
    20 - Denver

    19 - Tennessee
    18 - Miami
    17 - Detroit

    17 - Indianapolis
    17 - New York Jets
    17 - Tampa Bay
    16 - Buffalo

    15 - Cincinnati

    10 - St. Louis
    9 - Pittsburgh
    6 - Jacksonville
    4 - Oakland

(Playoff teams are shaded in BLUE. Non-playoff teams are shaded in RED.)

There appears to be a strong correlation between the number of non-passing TDs scored by a team and their likelihood of making the playoffs.
"...more talking went on between us all until [Roethlisberger and his entourage] left the bar. Then I seperated with [name redacted] and the other girls and went with another group, and everything else happened, and I was told about it this morning and felt I needed to give my statement. Looking back and hearing all of the details, it seems to me that it was a set-up, and so I think this needed to be told."

Brady would have a lot more TD passes if we decided to throw it more instead of run it in the red zone

Brady and Ridley account for nearly half of those btw

I expect there is a strong correlation to scoring lots of points and making the play-offs.

    Is this really news?

    Another pathetic stat for Oakland...

2 rushing TDs for McFadden, 1 for Palmer, and 1 for Pryor. No defensive or ST touchdowns.

    Holy ****.

That is crazy. I'd rather see it as a percentage of their total scoring maybe though.

Well, 9 out of the top 12 play-off teams scored the most TDs.
10 out of the top 12 play-off teams scored the most points
6 out of the top 12 play-off teams scored the most receiving TDs
8 out of the top 12 play-off teams scored the most other TDs

What do we really get from this, good teams score points, get touchdowns and go to the play-offs? Well, there's a surprise!

McFadden had 4 TDs in the 6 games he played last year. This year he scored 2 in 12 games, and none after Week 6. Pryor's TD was of course in Week 17.
