Wait, you're blaming that on Roethlisberger? I only saw the last few minutes of the game and here's what I saw:
- attempting a 50+ yard FG at Heinz Field when they should have punted
- not kneeling down and going into overtime after getting the ball back at our own 10
Two incredibly stupid decisions. There's a time to be aggressive and a time to be conservative. In this case, being aggressive was just plain stupid.
Did ben miss Arians? Is bens shoulder the reason for the short passes? is it time to start looking for bens Replacement. What do we need to do first in the off season?
I know we have some definite needs but just think it is time to start looking for his backup/ replacement
He has minimum 5 years left at a good level. We need a back up not replacement
Hope you are right. Ben is my fav steeler of all time
He is only 30 if he doesn't suffer a major injury he will be fine for a while
The more I reflect, the more I believe that Ben should have been put on IR after his injury. They say it takes about six weeks for a dislocated rib to heal, and more time after that just for an athlete to be ready to play again. Six weeks from November 12 is December 24, the day after the Steelers were eliminated from the playoffs. I just think he came back too quickly, though given the QB situation the Steelers were dealing with by the end of November, they were probably screwed regardless. To me, the 2012 Steelers are like the 2011 Bears: a playoff-caliber team that missed the playoffs after serious injuries to their most important players.
"[Roethlisberger is] the most underrated quarterback of the 21st century."
-Bill Simmons, Editor, Grantland
"Roethlisberger is perpetually underrated, to the point that even when he breaks records, it doesn’t really feel like it."
-Joseph Milord, Editor, Elite Daily
"I am ... a big Roethlisberger fan. I really like Ben. He will be in that Hall of Fame someday."
-Joe Montana, Hall of Fame QB
FACT: The Steelers NEVER scored 436 points in a season with Bruce Arians calling the plays.
