The Phillies traded two high-priced outfielders in what many called a house cleaning. Could those moves have been done to make finiancial room for Josh Hamilton and his pending free agency? His bat in the lineup to protect Ryan Howard and fill a hole in the outfield would look pretty good to Phillies fans. He will likely cost $25-30 million, but they freed up over $20 million by trading Pence and Victorino and will lose Polanco's $6 million as well (and could still trade Utley and his $12 million).
