    Marlins listening on Giancarlo Stanton

Do the M's have an interest and the prospects for this piece of our puzzle

Rick Randall said a trade for him is a pipe dream. So no.

I feel like teams need to be lucky and have those guys come up through their own farm system. Stanton provides value, but in only 1 player's body. Having to surrender multiple guys of high value to equal the value of 1 player is risky.

If the Marlins can get enough talent in return, all the power to them. But I feel like it could seriously set back the team he goes to.

Sure, teams should want to maximize value per player, but the risk is much higher. Like having all your eggs in one basket.

    Couldn't have said it better.

They might have to give up what turns into 20 WAR per season for an 8-9 WAR guy.

Granted, 8-9 WAR is MVP caliber. But I think we need a lot of this young talent.

I disagree. I think a player this good will never be available again. I'd jump all over it. Same age as Montero and hits 37 bombs in 123 games. The most power in baseball. **** prospects, give me that.

But you cant fill one hole just to create another one. IMO, based on what he would take, this trade probably wouldnt help us.

Seager, Walker, Franklin and Paxton for one player..

This! Prospects are exactly that. You could give up 5 guys and if two of them panned out they'd be lucky.

Not true, it makes too much sense for us so it won't happen. Stanton is the type of guy I would love to unload the farm for.

We probably arent talking about unloading the farm tho. We are unloading the farm, AND our starting 3rd baseman in all likelihood
