Harry, I grew up with the phillies and learned the game by your voice. You will always be missed but never forgotten. Though you are no longer with us, you'll never be "outta here" in our hearts!
Sounds like our new #4 hahahaaha.
Guy stinks
damn i really wanted marcum. i think marcums underrated. not that they would necessarily go up against each other but when comparing rotations with the nats i liked how we could match their #4 Haren with our #4 Marcum.
i dont like lannan. he's ok and we'll all probably try to simplify the signing but im just not havin it. the only thing that i really remember well of lannan is in one of his first starts if not his first ever, he shattered chase's hand on a ball inside, putting him on the DL for the start of his injury history /:
This was probably just so he couldn't hit Chase again.
He woulda been ****ed in Washington...
Update: Turns out he was ****ed in Kansas City too

About what I expected. Put Lannan's name in a hat with 20 other guys and pick one. He might have more upside than a lot of those other guys, however. You sort of know what you're getting when you sign Bartolo Colon. Lannan might have some room left to improve. Could be a nice stealth signing.

ALL YOUR ACE ARE BELONG TO US.
Lannan is fine... who cares. #5 starters are a dime a dozen. If he sucks... you cut him , get a new one.
Funny to think though... he was Washington's opening day starter for a couple of years. How things have changed!!
I really like this signing as well, low risk with the potential for a pretty decent reward. Can't argue with starting pitching depth despite his career numbers at CBP being pretty bad.
DANNY B #48
LETS GO FLYERS
what you have to look at is in 6 starts in the majors last year, he went 4-1 with 3.98 era i think so i still believe he has good stuff.
remember if he didnt get hurt i still believe he would be nationals 2 or 3 starter behind gio and if straz is back
I understand the idea of signing a low risk pitcher. What I don't understand is signing a low risk pitcher with #6 starter upside. I feel like Ruben is begging Cloyd or Pettibone to take that fifth starter's spot.

honestly, we do not know what we will get out of Lannan. nobody will know until spring. granted i did say he was garbage earlier but come on hes an ex-Nat, i gotta bash him. spring will give us a better understanding of Lannan.
