Metta World Peace an early candidate for Most Improved Player of the Year.

I am sure most laker fans have noticed the drastic improvement in Metta World Peace's game this year on both ends of the court. He has been one of our most consistent players this year and his numbers are up tremendously along with his efficiency. If he can keep this up, he has a legit case for winning the MIP award this year. Discuss.

Metta's raw stats from last year: 8ppg and 3rpg on .394 pct shooting and and only .29 pct shooting from the 3.

Metta's raw stats from this year: 14ppg, 6rpg on .423 pct shooting from the field and .370pct shooting from the 3 point line.

*Didn't post his TS% and PER, but it definitely is up significantly from last year.

number wise NO. and thats what matters with the media when giving the MIP award

He is shooting extremely well this year. TS% of 56.0 and eFG% of 52.5, he hasn't been that efficient from the floor since his Indiana days!

True, but he has been our 2nd most consistent player all year and has been very impressive.

I was upset with his play early but he's been good the last month. Looks like Pringles system is fitting his offensive game.

Most improved probably not....But comeback player or if he continues to come off the bench an outside chance of 6th man(If he doesn't exceed the requirements).

How many games must you play off the bench to be considered a sixth man of the year? But then again Crawford from the Clippers will most likely win that award lol

MIP isn't "comeback player of the year".

I'd say the chances of him winning the SMOTY award is more likely than MIP.

Artest is playing great right now. Not surprised because he dropped some weight..Most teams and fans really though he was on a major downside. No amnesty talk for artest anymore I see.

They will need him come playoff time. If he can play like this in the playoffs they become a real daangerous team.

Mwp has looked really good so far. He's in good shape. I wish we had an athletic wing to pair with him
